Interesting Experience
I got one of these from inventr.io, for my granddaughter. Due to the physical distance between us, I was not able to support her project. I decided to get a second kit so that I could work through things with her (and her father). Unfortunately, at that time everyone seemed to be out of this kit, but I did find one on Amazon. Now we are all making slow but sure progress. The kit itself contains an Arduino board, a USB-C to USB cable, lots of bags with all the parts necessary, stamped laser cut wood, and a few tools. The instructions are available on their website. The Arduino toolchain needs to be downloaded and configured. When that’s done correctly the reward is a blinking led! This kit teaches on many levels providing real world hands on tasks. As assembly progresses each device is configured and installed, and the accompanying software is written. At each stage the software must be saved, compiled correctly, and downloaded to the Arduino. There are parts like a solar cell, a servo, a display, and many sensors. Each is its own mini project. The skills presented here all have real world use cases. It’s great to see my granddaughter recognize these things in her daily environment. It’s one thing to flip a light switch, and quite another to see the light go on in her understanding! The only thing I have added to the kit is some wood glue. It helps to keep the wood pressed flat until use for easy assembly. Similarly, when gluing the wood, be sure to place it on a flat surface and put something on top to keep things flat while they dry. Be careful in deciding what to glue and what not to glue. You’ll want to keep access to enclosed areas. I’m thinking that staining the wood pieces will help preserve the look, but I’m not a woodworker. I do know enough that no whole sheet should be coated as it may prevent the parts from coming off the sheet. As with all electronics assembly, I encourage use of a grounding wrist strap and an antistatic mat. One big spark on a dry day could destroy parts, devices, or the Arduino itself. Good luck!

3 Stars for poorly managed cables
I like this set, was a fun learning project. The main issue I have is the cables are all over the place and are easily trapped between the parts. I had to use a pencil to push the wires away from the parts. I feel like a few cable bridges (like the battery pack holder) can be added to help resolve this. Definitely needs some more engineering in this area. The screw to mount the "feed" door gear are so small, and poorly made that when I tried to screw them in, they broke, mid way. I didn't over tighten them, as I have built many models with screws of the same size. These just broke. I replaced them with a different set from another model I had. The LED for the Solar slides into a hole that's too big, and even with the tape provided, it pops right back out. Teaching my kid the Arduino IDE and LUA Code was a fun project for her. Building the little farm and seeing everything work was super exciting for her too. Functionally, this is a great starter to show the full abilities of this chip and the sensors.

Great STEM kit
The cat works exactly as described, and the parts can be reused with the wood that is supplied. We reused it also for student designed cardboard structures. It’s especially good for those who are new to programming, because everything is already integrated..

Poor Documentation and Step by Step instructions
Hi: This product was interesting, but getting access to the correct info to complete the project and some of the sub-projects is frustrating. Specifically access to libraries and placement. Teacher has to spend too much time setting up, and solving problems. TKS MBH

Great Product, excellent instructions in assembly, ESP32 drivers needed
The product is grat and instructions are very well presented, I struggle a lot making the ESP32 work on a Windows 11 ARM 64. I ended up downloading 2 different drivers until it was finally configured correctly. I'm still in the process of programiing it but that is basically just pasting code so should not be a problem. so if you have difficulties installing the drivers so you windows recognizes the ESP32 download the CH341SER driver. not the latest but one of the old ones.

A toy from TINKERER's PARADISE. Beautiful set for intermediate level hobbyists.
If you are someone who expects all instructions printed on paper, like a Lego set or an Erector set or a Gilbert set of yore, then this set is not for you. But PLEASE DO NOT overlook the great job Keyestudio has done to put all instructions examples, drivers and documentation online along with source codes and libraries. There's NO DENYING that the ONLINE documentation is a tad unorganized between 2 wikis, 1 drop box and 1 GitHub. But, true tinkerers don't like to be served on the platter with the route map to their destination, and love their journey meandering and wading through the waters, finding and enjoying the tiny experiences on their own, don't they? This cannot be someone's very first micro controller set however. A basic Arduino kit might serve that purpose better. But, if you have a touch and feel of micro controllers, the Arduino IDE, various sensors etc. already, then this set it a great bonus that introduces you to WiFi, Bluetooth, Controlling devices from your phone, the ESP32 (which in itself a great MCU for hobbyists) etc. This set also comes with a well balanced mix of sensors and devices that go with the ESP32 to begin your fun journey with IoT and Smart Devices. I made a comparison of sensors that comes with this kit and the Smart Home kit. The attached picture of that comparison shows that this kit gives you more sensors (quantity wise) as well as more capabilities (features) than the Smart Farm kit. This is INDEED a beautiful set that is very well put together. The quality of parts is very good, both the electronic ones and the rest of the hardware. Instructions online are very good and detailed too. Attached is another photo of using the PIR sensor, buzzer and LED components in a Lego project. Fits nice and well. Having an ESP32 at the heart of this is a big differentiator and a deal breaker for some of us who already know what it can do. And for those who know a little bit more than the intermediate level hobbyist, you can easily program the ESP32 using esp-idf, FreeRTOS, multi-tasking, interrupt handling etc. and break free from the cages of a setup() function and a loop() function in the Arduino IDE. Needless to say that the possibilities are undoubtedly limitless, and definitely more than building just "one smart farm". Isn't that what's called a learning path? Which means, you do not have to buy another set for your next learning project. For the kit's documentation, you need to search and visit the 'KS0567 keyestudio Smart Farm kit wiki'. At the bottom of this page, Keyestudio have given a link to drivers, code, libraries and examples that you can use, including some that are outside of what your Smart farm can do and help you grow your knowledge and application. You can additionally search and visit 'Download test code and drivers for KS5016' if you just want to use the ESP32 development board more than anything else. And for the tutorials of this kit, you need to search and visit 'KS0567 keyestudio Smart Farm kit docs'. You can also search youtube for a 'Review by Dr Jennifer Martay The Keyestudio Smart Farm' and view it too. You can also read more details behind this view video by searching for 'Articles by a physicist The Keyestudio Smart Farm'. But obviously if you wanted to build a smart helicopter or a drone, those types of hardware are not included in what you buy with this kit ... LOL.
