Peeping tom.
I bought 2 of thease cameras on the advice from the police to catch a prowler, peeping tom, around our home at night, the cameras never pick him up on any of the of the 2 cameras yet he was seen by a person passing our home who alerted us, I'm very disappointed with the cameras, for the price I was expecting a great result in catching the prowler, very very disappointed.

High quality wireless home security camera
As someone who's dabbled in various home security cameras, the Imou 2K Solar Security Camera had me intrigued. It boasts an impressive feature list for a "budget" camera, promising wire-free convenience, long battery life, and AI smarts at a seemingly attractive price point. So, after weeks of using it, here's my honest take, combining the camera's strengths with some critical observations and personal musings.First Impressions: Built to Last (Mostly)Right out of the box, the Imou exudes a sense of quality. The plastic construction feels sturdy, and the included mounting kit inspires confidence. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to the clear instructions (though drilling is required). But here's my first quibble: the solar panel's cable felt a tad flimsy, and I would've preferred a sturdier connection system.Solar-Powered Freedom: A Dream or a Daydream? The camera's solar-powered functionality is its true selling point. No more pesky wires or battery replacements – sunshine becomes your guardian angel. However, be mindful of your location. While the 15000mAh battery is beefy, in my experience, consistent cloud cover or limited sunlight hours can impact its effectiveness. So, if you live in a sun-starved region, consider having a backup power source handy.Feature Frenzy: From Essential to Excessive? The Imou throws a lot of features at you: AI human detection, auto-tracking, two-way audio, and even color night vision. All these work reasonably well, and the 360-degree PTZ control adds a layer of flexibility. However, I found myself rarely using some features like sound and light alarms, feeling they might be overkill for everyday needs.App Time: User-Friendly, But Not Without QuirksThe Imou app is decent, offering good live views, remote control, and playback options. Setup takes some time, but the interface is intuitive. However, I encountered occasional hiccups with notifications and connectivity, requiring app restarts. It's not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of.The Verdict: A Balanced TakeOverall, the Imou 2K Solar Security Camera delivers solid value for its price. It's well-built, feature-rich, and the solar power option is truly liberating in sunny locations. However, keep in mind the potential limitations of solar power and the occasional app quirks. If you prioritise wire-free convenience, appreciate a packed feature list, and live in a sun-blessed area, the Imou is a strong contender. But if you value rock-solid reliability and prefer a more minimalist feature set, explore other options before hitting that "buy" button.

They does the job but not really!
The reason I give only 2 stars is because they are not exactly as they are described, for example on detection is moving like crazy in all positions even is no one in th frame, especially in the night time! The battery is charging very very slowly even if that solar panel it is in direct sun light. Better pay something extra and get the Eufy ones than this ones... Just a budget exterior cameras they are and that's all!

Detection & tracking issues
On the plus side this camera is easy to set up and has great optics. However in my experience it was let down in two fronts. Firstly the delay in 'waking' from the battery-saving sleep state (Imou customer support said there is a built in 5 second delay) resulted in the detection of the subject / intruder either being partly or wholly missed. Secondly the auto tracking was sent haywire by rain or strong winds no matter what adjustments were made to detection sensitivity. I contacted Imou tech support, the upshot of which was them stating they would make their R&D department aware of these shortcomings.

Good quality camera
This camera comes in a retail cardboard box and inside you’ll find the camera, USB cable, drilling guide, fixing kit, wall mount bracket, surveillance warning sticker, and a user manual. The camera feels well built and solid in its construction. It is made from plastic and has a matte white finish which contrasts with the black of the camera face and the solar panel. The solar panel is in a fixed position at the top and cannot be moved to aim it towards the sun more, so you do need to consider your installation position so it can receive the maximum amount of sunlight. It does state in the manual that if you can’t get a good enough charge from your installed position, you can contact them, and they will send you a free solar panel. There is an inbuilt battery in which the solar panel charges up throughout the day and keeps the camera going overnight. The camera can be controlled with an app on your phone, and it gives you a live view as well as the controls needed to move the camera. Camera movements are smooth and easy to control and is easy to get the camera into position. The image quality is ok as it’s not quite as sharp for 2k as I was expecting but it’s still sharp enough to see what’s happening and to make out faces. The beauty of this camera is that it’s wireless so you don’t have to run a power cable to it, you can attach it to your wall, connect it to your home wireless internet, and off it goes. There is a Micro-USB slot on the top of the camera underneath a waterproof flap. This is where it can store the recordings but there isn’t one included so you will have to provide your own.I’m quite impressed with this camera as it was easy to install, and it doesn’t need an external power source to get it running. It is completely self efficient once set up so you can install it and forget about it.

Device doesn’t connect to wifi regardless of wifi being switched to 2.4ghz
Bought this device and I was trying to connect to wifi. After about 50 attempts of switching wifi on and off, making sure it’s the 2.4ghz wifi, resetting the camera multiple times, trying a different phone, nothing worked. The green light after flashing for 4s stayed solid the whole time. Very disappointed. Sent it back for refund the very next day. Do not buy this camera, Youtube doesn’t have a lot of reviews on this one for a reason. Go with the most frequently bought one that has many reviews.
