This little stone has become as useful as my pencil and square. I bought it on a whim because I liked the look and size of the stone, and the price was reasonable. Now after 3 months, when I'm in the shop this stone is on my person. Not a week has gone by that at least one new use is added to the multiple benefits: smoothing, polishing, sharpening, honing, measuring, folding, creasing, stacking, grinding, burnishing and so on.....

A wast of money
nothing at all was as described. wrong measurements, wrong surface and material. it was small, about 1/2 as wide as what was in description. the surface was very uneven with divots and high spots all over. the material said white agate but is more like quartz, Natural Emerald (10000#) not eve close. my chisel brought up a tiny green curl of whatever it is or whatever they used to try and make the surface seem flat. NOT GOOD AT ALL. any time i would try to move the chisel, it would immediately get stuck . as for my perspective, my experience is in metal engraving. a tad over 20 years of experience sharpening edges to cut metal. VALUE FOR THE MONEY=0, EASE OF USE=0, WORTH AS A TOOL=0

Not a bad stone but it is fragile
Ordered this stone in late January, and it was delivered damaged. The packing seemed fine but, I think it was broken (probably from being dropped, I'll explain in a second). Amazon was contacted and I received another stone to replace the first one (The original was returned to Amazon via Kohl's)This stone is pocket-sixed with a very fine grit. Not to sure as to it being #8000/#10000 grit, but it's pretty fine. The stone is brittle when dry and rather fragile. So it could easily be damaged if dropped of even fumbled on a table. I would suggest letting it soak in water for 10-20 minutes before using it. Otherwise, it is very functional and should provide good service for honing or polishing up.

Great finishing stone
Could have been a bit larger

False Advertizing
Item not same as picture dimentions. Much smaller. White side is not ceramic but some kind of stone. Also not flat, with noticable uneven tool marks on sharpening surface.Website: 2 inch wideProduct sent: 1 inch wideIs this a scam? This was supposed to be a gift.

Looks like Arkansas
Looks like Arkansas stone. Fine to very fine grit. Does sharpen a blade but sooo slowly. I gave up using this stone after few tries. It is rather small size. I would buy a larger one if I could. It may work a little faster as it can use longer strokes. You can get a rather fine finish with this stone but this is only for final honing and due to small size it is impractical to use with chisels, planes and other woodworking tools

Small
Would give this a five a product is so small it's hard to sharpen a pocket knife

Déçu
Beaucoup trop petites pour espérer aiguiser un couteau, assez cassantes sur les bords. Pas convaincu par l'aiguisage qui est du coup très difficile. Passez votre chemin
