Great way to ditch the AA batteries
Great way to ditch the AA batteries the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is it does make an electric hum that you can hear if it’s uncovered or close to you. If it’s covered, or in a bag or a foot or 2 away you won’t hear it. Do wish cable length was a little shorter but depending on what you were doing this could be helpful.

Perfect for EL panels
I bought this to use as a plug in power source for a project I did with an EL panel. I noticed that the portable battery pack that came with the EL panel works great, but drains batteries really fast. I wanted something that I could use to power the panel without having to go through tons of batteries. This worked perfectly!

heads up - IT'S 5V, NOT 12 V
5 stars because it's bright for my 1.25"x12" EL panel and I actually wanted a 5V version I could plug into a rechargable battery pack vs a 12V inverter. The seller should update their description because USB outlets only output 5V unless you've personally modified them (which is a super bad idea bc plugging a 5v item into a 12v source = letting out all the magic smoke that makes your electronics work) It's small and perfect for what I need it for. Just be careful because it can get hot...
