Berserk Complete 1997 TV Series [Blu-ray]

I love this series and I was happy to be able to upgrade my dvd set to Blu-Ray.

I enjoyed being able to rewatch this classic series on this format. Still as bloody and graphic as i remember.

To anyone who loves anime. The original TV series of Beserk has differences from the 3 movie remake/remastered release. For instance, Nosferatu Zod admired Guts, because of their battle together, and saw that his sword broke in his fight against General Boscogn. Zod then threw his sword on to the battlefield for Guts to use. There are other details that I like from the TV series, the music is definitely more on par with the anime. I do like the 3 movie re-release for it's animation and music as well, but just my humble opinion the TV series definitely has more oomph to it.

Incredible anime series. One of the best. The 2016 remake was pretty good, the newest one I found barely watchable. But this one, the original, is excellent and well worth the money. Its only unfortunate that this edition does not come with the extra items as the steelbook, but its the discs and episodes that matter at the end of the day and these do not disappoint. Japanese original language, with English subtitles is the way to go, always. Although, this anime didnt have too bad a English voiceover, most are comically childish compared with the original Japanese, but this one felt on point in English, its just much better in Japanese.

This is the beginning of the Beserk anime series and should be watched first. It is the best anime adaptation, looks amazing, sounds amazing, detail and care put into the story, animation, and characters. Highly recommend!

The 1997 anime series has never been more accessible until now. This complete set has every episode, English and Japanese, and a whole bunch of extras. Discotek even went the extra mile to translate the Japanese extras like the interviews! The picture quality is beautiful, too. There are only two or three shots in the entire series that have been replaced with old DVD or Laserdisc footage but they're short and might not be noticeable during the first watch. It might have been like that on older sets from other countries. Regardless, it's a great purchase. If you're new to the series like I was, watch about five episodes online, then decide for yourself whether to buy this. It's worth it. But then read the manga after that. The 2016 show definitely does not exist.

Desde muy joven fui muy fan de Berserk, tras empezar a leer el manga y ahora coleccionarlo, queria desesperadamente que saliera el anime para poderlo comprar, la espera fue LARGA pero valió la pena y me siento muuy feliz con mi compra. Es un anime que suelo hacerle rewatch cada cierto tiempo.

What more can be said about the 1997 anime other than it’s the best berserk adaptation TO THIS DAY. the animation is great , the voice acting is great , the story is HANDS DOWN THE BEST STORY PENNED IN ANY MEDIA EVER and this adaptation is just phenomenal. I also have the golden age movie trilogy set and while it’s good it just doesn’t pack in as many details from the manga as this anime did . Every episode is the best quality it could be so this is a must own for any BERSERK fan . Do yourself a favour and buy it immediately !
