Review: Worth to look into.. to save your relationship - "The Jealousy Cure" by Robert L. Leahy is a comprehensive guide that dives deep into the complex emotion of jealousy, offering practical strategies to manage and ultimately overcome it. With his extensive background in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychology, Leahy provides readers with valuable insights and tools to tackle jealousy's destructive effects on relationships and personal well-being. One of the book's strengths lies in its empathetic and non-judgmental approach. Leahy acknowledges that jealousy is a universal human emotion, and rather than demonizing it, he seeks to help readers understand its root causes. He delves into various forms of jealousy, from romantic and social jealousy to professional envy, illustrating the multifaceted nature of this emotion. By exploring jealousy in its various contexts, Leahy provides readers with a more holistic perspective. The practical exercises and techniques presented in "The Jealousy Cure" are its standout feature. He intersperses the book with relatable anecdotes and conversations, which serve to demystify jealousy and make it more approachable for readers. While "The Jealousy Cure" is a valuable resource for individuals struggling with jealousy and its repercussions, it does have some limitations. Some readers may find the book a bit repetitive at times, as it revisits key concepts and strategies throughout. Additionally, the book primarily focuses on individual self-help, and readers seeking more in-depth guidance on addressing jealousy in their relationships may wish for more specific advice on couples therapy or communication strategies. In conclusion, "The Jealousy Cure" by Robert L. Leahy is a highly informative and practical guide for anyone grappling with jealousy. It offers valuable insights into the roots of jealousy, provides a wide range of practical exercises, and encourages self-reflection and personal growth. While it may not have all the answers for every situation, it is a valuable resource for those looking to better understand and manage their jealousy and improve the quality of their relationships and overall well-being. Review: An outstanding resource for people struggling with jealousy - This is an excellent book with thorough explanations about why we become jealous, why we become "emotionally hijacked" by jealous thoughts, and most importantly, what we can do to break the pattern. There are numerous very practical strategies to use for overcoming this destructive habit of thinking that makes us miserable and has the potential to destroy relationships. I am a therapist, and I buy a lot of books; this is one of the most helpful books I have found. I have looked at other books on jealousy, and this one is heads above the others. The techniques described in the book can be used for other types of destructive thought patterns.

Some Good Ideas
I confess that I actually purchased this kindlebook that is The Jealousy Cure by Robert L Leahy PhD and Paul Gilbert (foreword PhD) on October 5, 2018 via Amazon. I’m fortunate to be married to a sweet and amazing husband who has been there for me through both challenging and good times and who has loved me simply for who I am in the 15 and a half years that we have been married. However, I am happy that I have this kindlebook to refer to at times when I catch myself needing to be more jealousy free in my personal life. I have learned to intuitively see the important lessons my logical and intuitive sides are teaching me when I humbly realize when I need to be more jealousy free. Additionally, I have had unexpected moments of professional andor personal life clarity when experiencing such emotions. Additionally, it is far easier for me to be jealousy free in my professional career life though I keep an open mind to kindlebooks like this to ensure it stays that way. The author helpfully points out healthier andor more realistic ways to look at jealousy to become more jealousy free, why it is important to aim to always be more mature and self confident to avoid judging andor gossiping about anyone who might be getting the attention of your partner to your partner or others regardless if that person is judging you to others in addition to why you also want to avoid putting that person on a pedestal, some reasons why it is important to avoid taking it too personal when your resolve to be more jealousy free is tested, focus on common goals with your partner, and more. The only caveat is that I wish there was more information on taking a look at what being more jealousy free could mean on a personal level. For instance, a woman or man who is sometimes andor occasionally tested in their aims to be more jealousy free could realize that their partner is naturally and understandably at times drawn to pay significant attention to more self confident andor successful people on a career andor money scale. This same person could do some soul searching and ask themselves if there is something they could to improve andor strengthen their own self confidence, career, andor money goals even if the timeframe to achieve successful completion of said goal/goals could take 6 months to 2 years andor more.

Recommended for both the general public and mental-health professionals
Jealousy is a universal emotion. When it becomes problematic, it can impair relationships, self-esteem, and overall well-being. This invaluable book helps readers learn how to cope with jealous reactions in a way that keeps those reactions from hijacking their lives. Dr. Leahy first helps readers overcome any shame they might feel about experiencing jealousy. He then provides clear, easy-to-understand steps for handling jealousy in a way that actually helps relationships flourish (instead of causing relationships to disintegrate). Readers are taught how to mentally "step back" from jealous reactions; understand jealous thoughts, emotions, and behavioral urges; and respond to negative thoughts in a way that is adaptive instead of harmful. I highly recommend this book to both the general public and to mental-health professionals. Jealousy has been neglected in the mental-health literature, despite its widespread nature. As a licensed psychologist, I found this book beneficial when working with clients who struggle with problematic jealousy. I wish I had had access to it sooner. Finally, as a psychology professor, I will also recommend this book to my psychology masters and doctoral students.

Wow!
I'm not a big fan of self help books but therapy hasn't helped and I've been doing THAT for thirty years. This book has given me so much insight and h helped me so much. It's based on CBT principles and it's very validation and doesn't make me feel like a can of crazy which jealousy often does. I added some page photos so you could see some actual content. This book is a winner. Sitting through all the books on jealousy and choosing which one to buy want easy and I actually purchased two but this is my favorite!

Didn't come "new" like it said it would.
I really like the book so far, but the book was selling for "new" and the book came in smelling like it has sat in some old person's basement for a few years and it was written in already. Not very new. That's been the only disappointment so far.

Life changing
This book has changed me and my relationship for the better. It was so insightful and I definitely recommend. This book discusses jealousy as a "betrayal of trust", not just stemming from infidelity. It describes the history of jealousy and how it has existed for centuries. The author even gives couple's perspectives who are on the giving and receiving end of jealous behavior and accusations. It was 230 pages but such an easy read.
