Philips Body Groomer, Series 5000 Showerproof with Back Reaching Attachment and Skin Comfort System, Corded and Cordless Use - BG5020/13, UK plug

One of the better groomers I have. Probably my go to. It takes a bit of getting the knack of using it but then it's quite good. At first I managed to get a few nicks in my intimate area but once I got used to it, it's much safer than my other groomers for a very close shave. Feels some what cheap and light but it doesn't do a bad job. It's actually really good for arm pits.

Quality product from a very well known brand....I bought a Mangroomer a few years ago and it didnt work very well. It scratched your body, took many attempts to remove hair and was more expensive than the Philips BG 5020. It became worse over time and I ended up throwing it out. An expensive cheap & nasty The BG 5020 is excellent. It arrived today and I've just used it. I've removed all the hair from my back, chest & stomach with the help of a double mirror. Most of the hair simply fell off immediately. My chest hair was a bit more stubborn and took a few attempts! My shower will thank me for this as I keep getting hair stuck in the plughole! I see that you can buy replacement heads for the shaver - they are much cheaper than a new shaver. Yes, I like this product very much

Positives- Let me just say I’m excessively hairy front and back. I used to get a friend to apply hair removal cream on my back. Excellent results, but incredibly messy and time consuming, not to mention the smell. The body groomer charges fully in about an hour, I usually get 2/3 uses at around 20x minutes a time from it before a recharge is required. I find it a great product and easy to use. I can now shave my own back without assistance huge plus. Negatives- the body groomer won’t shave to zero like a razor or anything like hair removal cream, I didn’t expect it to. However it shaves closely. This is good enough for me. You will need to be patient and do many passes to trim down sufficiently. After your first attempt you will become more efficient at shaving and it will take less time. I don’t recommend anyone using this groomer who has a excessively spotty back. I only went over one spot, then blood dripping down my back!! Overall- a good product, the only real answer I can see to trim ones own back and not involve others. Product is expensive to my mind and the price has fluctuated a lot in the last year or so. I bought a damaged box item, other than box damaged as stated item is perfect as far a I can see. When you get used to it, you will be glad you bought it. My only wish is that it would shave even closer.

This is one of the best trimmers I've ever owned! Comes with three guide combs which are pretty good in terms of length. The design and ergonomics are great. The trimmer is extremely easy to use, especially when coupled with the back attachment (included). Using this without the guide combs gives you the closest trim ever! It literally feels like you have shaved. However because it isn't shaving and trimming, there are no issues with ingrown hairs. The design on the shaver itself is great as the two teeth on either side are great for trimming longer hairs or for trimming over a wider surface, while the flat trimmer allows you to trim sensitive areas with ease and confidence - no nicks or any pain! So far the battery life has lasted a full hour after a complete charge, considering the size of the trimmer, it's pretty good.

I have tried many body groomers, have wet shaved and used the battery ones with a trimming "blade" like the Mangroomer, have tried those ornately handled hair trimmers, but this beats them all. If like me you have pretty coarse body hair, and like me you doubted whether a foil shaver could "cut it", doubt no more! The trimmers on either side of the foil catch longer hair and mean you can shave in either direction, making two passes at least, catching all the hairs, as not all will grow in one direction. Charges quickly, each charge lasts three full body shaves for me. And you can replace the blades which say they last a full year. Excellent purchase :-)

Have had so many trimmers and clippers, so many to do different job and so many to do all in one, however they have all been hit and miss, mostly miss. First off, the Philips body groomer is really comfortable to hold. With double edge cutting comb and central foil, you get a good clean performance. This kit comes with a handle to assist in trimming hair off your back. The handle is foldable with locking feature. The trimmer fits securely into position and provides good reach to the back. even if you do not have the best shoulder mobility, the handle helps to reach the back rather easily. The cutting performance is excellent. Cuts hair with ease. The cutting edges are safe and does not nip on skin, which means, down below it's safe and very effective. The kit comes with three extra combs for different depth. Great price considering the kit and performance.

I've used Philips Bodygrooms for many years - as a man with very dark hair, I've always had a "body hair" problem, and there's no way I'm getting in a swimming pool with a hairy body! haha. So, having made the mistake of trying to save money by purchasing a Philips Series 1000 earlier this year (only used three times - useless, sent to recycling) I decided that I had no choice but to return to the "real" version of the Bodygroom. Overall, I am very happy with the product - charges quickly (less than the 60 minutes stated for a full charge from an empty battery). The biggest issue with previous versions has always been the lack of length, which made back shaving difficult, but certainly not impossible. The new extension attachment makes a HUGE difference, but is also the source of a small problem which really ought to be addressed in future versions - the attachment is too smooth/slippy, so it's very easy to drop; it needs a more "corrugated" surface (e.g. like that on car mats) to enable a better, more secure grip. Other than that, I am 100% satisfied with the product.

Without doubt well worth the cost. This is easy to hold and control and does not cut the skin (even in sensitive areas). There are loads of cheap Chinese trimmers advertised but this is much better as it has been specifically designed for body hair trimming and it does a great job, safely. Good to know that spares are also available.
