Good cable for USB lights.

Got this to power 5v dc xmas lights, very discreet you can hardly see it. Very fine, suitable for extra low voltages only (not 230v ac mains).

I'm using this for some homemade 3d printed Christmas lights .. it's low current low voltage cable so perfect for making my own 5v led lights.

Firstly; this wire states in the description the important info:28 AWG (a thin gauge wire for low power electronics)30M (30 Meters of dual wire is insane value)Clear 2 Core Transparent WireIt is what it is, but this wire is just superb quality and I honestly wish I had found this sooner.ProsStrong and durablePolarity marking2-coreClear coating is visually better for exposed wiringSo many uses for low voltage/power componentsPerfect for string lightingSuperb valuePliableThere are no cons for me, a previous review said it was too thin, it is not, it is 28 AWG which is exactly that, if you want a thicker wire then buy a lower AWG.The wire comes in a flat-pack jiffy bag, no-frills but does the job, I could tell by the weight it was going to be a good quality wire and it proved to be very useful.The dual core wire has a polarity mark on one of the 2 clear plastic coating, dots all along the edge so you can easily distinguish which was is positive (live) and which is negative (earth), which one is which is up to you as they are both the same wire, I chose to use the dotted cable as positive.The coating is very strong but pliable so it is easy to bend into shapes or thread through pipes etc. I also found it easy to strip and separate.There's not much more to say other than a few examples of what I will use it for:Prototyping on a breadboardLED string lightingLow voltage/power electronics3.7v componentsSmall DC motorsServosUSB 2-core power cablesMotion sensor alarms/lightsLCD mini screensSmall speakersThere's so many more uses I have for it, but the 'clear' coating will add a whole new element to my projects as it looks far neater for exposed wiring than the usual Red & Black.Overall I highly recommend this wire and I'm glad to have discovered it as it makes my projects look so much cleaner.

This cable will suit my needs but it should be said that the seller should make a greater effort to provide the correct information regarding it's rating for voltage and, more usefully, amperage.This wire has very thin insulation and as such may well not be suitable for 300v as is stated more than once in the description. Further down in the description a 12v figure is stated and this seems much more plausible for this wire. At best the voltage information is ambiguous. Amperage wise, 28awg as I understand it has a maximum around 7 amps and should probably be fused much lower.I have knocked 2 stars off because, if you are selling electrical wire then, for safety reasons, you have a responsibility to provide correct information and, on this occasion, I don't think they have.I am using this in a 12v system to power low current lights from my shed and it is perfect for this. It could also be used as basic speaker wire. Make sure you understand the limits of this wire before trying to use it for high voltage applications.
