well-designed, clear and easy to follow; sturdy sewn binding; enjoyable to use
This Garden Almanac, filled with practical, seasonal advice, guides you month by month to help with making the most of your garden. It offers essential tips for planting, pruning, and harvesting, with clear guidance for each month. There is also useful advice on soil preparation, pest control, and plant care, along with troubleshooting for common problems. The seasonal weather forecasts help to plan ahead for frost, rainfall, and temperature changes. Detailed charts show moon phases and solar positions, both of which can influence planting schedules, composting, and harvesting. The well-designed charts, tables, illustrations, and diagrams are clear and easy to follow, with no need to wade through technical jargon. Some great extras include:=Pest and Disease Management: Identification guides for common pests and diseases, with both organic and non-organic solutions.=Gardening Projects: Creative ideas for DIY projects like building a rainwater storage system, bog garden, or even fun activities for children like making hedgehog hideouts or bug hotels.=Wildlife-Friendly Tips: Advice on attracting pollinators, encouraging beneficial wildlife, and maintaining a balanced ecosystem.=Recipes and Seasonal Cooking: Fun ideas for using your garden’s produce, a lovely way to get the whole family involved. The almanac is easy to navigate, with a clear structure, bite-sized content, and well-placed visuals. Unlike cluttered layouts, this one is neat and user-friendly.Colour-coded sections and a uniform layout for each month make finding information simple.Given that this almanac is designed for year-round use, its physical quality is just as impressive as its content. It is sturdy, with sewn binding—my personal preference—that allows it to lie flat when open. The hardcover adds durability, which is perfect for outdoor use.The thick paper has a pleasant texture, and there is no ink bleed-through, keeping each page crisp. The vibrant ink is easy to read even in bright light, and the high-resolution illustrations and photos are clear, with no pixelation.I love the style of the illustrations and the soft, nature-inspired colour palette, both of which make the almanac’s visuals even more enjoyable to explore. All in all, this almanac is a lovely mix of practical, insightful guidance, fun facts, inspiring ideas, and beautiful visuals. Its robust physical properties ensure it can handle regular use, making it a joy to rely on throughout the year. I would happily recommend it.

Lovely almanac
Really lovely book, nicely illustrated throughout each of the month pages with lots of photographs too. I especially like the focus on wildlife pages, telling you what to look out for and how to encourage in your garden. I like to grow fruits and herbs so the 'edible garden' pages are really useful for a beginner like me, with lots of tips. There are also little projects and recipes for things like kimchi and kombucha too.The cover is also really beautiful and I imagine would make a perfect Christmas present! An invaluable book for those that are keen or novice gardeners, but also for those with a general interest in plants and wildlife wanting to learn about the changes throughout the year.

Garden almanac book
This garden almanac is a great gift for gardening enthusiasts! It's a small hard-backed book, with beautiful photographs and illustrations. It's packed to the brim with lots of interesting information such as what to plant, wildlife to spot, sun and moon charts, and fun recipes. The book is divided into the months of the year, so it's something you can revisit over the year as the seasons pass by. It's visually appealing, and contains a great depth of information for the everyday gardener and nature lover, and a great book overall.

Wealth of information in a great format
I really love this book, sure it has the usual month by month jobs to do, sun/moon charts etc etc but it’s all the little extras that make this book shine. Things like little projects, new ideas for regular tasks, recipes and a summary of the challenges to be faced each month. The whole book has high quality printing on thick pages and a lovely illustrated hardback cover, making it also ideal for gifting.

Virtue signalling
I hate it when simple books like this have to incorporate so much virtue signally and political correctness. Stanley knife and steel ruler to cut out the dross which adds nothing to this "Almanac" whatsoever.
