Yes these can be zero gapped. The back plate can be adjusted to a zero gap setting. It is a Phillips head screw x2. The cutting blade is fixed. It is a simpler adjustment than the Oster clippers I am familiar with.

Q: Can you use thsi to trim your beard as well?

Beards are different something fancy would be questionable but simple beard could be trimmed if hair is not longer than 1” that is biggest attachment for it.
