Secret Weapon
Placing this in my effects loop of my bass amp is like removing a blanket from my speakers. The difference with and without this eq placed in effects loop is absolutely night and day. I never ever ever play without it. Eq and compression are two of the absolutely essential pedals that you need for bass in my opinion. The 10 bands of sculpting make all the difference in the world. I'm positive that this has the same effect on guitar as well!

Turns one guitar into many.
A good EQ is one of those must-haves for any guitar player. They are invaluable to quickly tweak or drastically change the sound of your guitar, or can be used to help compensate for room dynamics – they can change your Les Paul into a Strat, a Strat into a screamer, or scoop mids for a more acoustic sound or etc., their uses are pretty-much endless.. This EQ from MXR offers-up a very usable range of equalization, and, impressively, is also Very quiet - Quieter than my Tech 21 Q-Strip.Although my Q-Strip offers more tonal adjustability, it’s more noisy, it’s harder to consistently redial in, and, honestly, I don't really need that much tonal variation for most applications, and, if I do, I’ll use a studio EQ. .. the Tech-21 Q-Strip was also twice the price of this MXR EQ.I have been playing for 35 years. I have a fully-equipped studio setup and own several expensive rack EQ’s ..but, for quick tweaks on the fly, this MXR unit is just great. Its ability to turn a single guitar into many, always puts a smile on my face. :0) ..A Very musical, Very usable, and overall Very-impressive EQ.If you are in the market for a good EQ pedal, give this-thing a try. MXR really hit it out of the park - especially considering the price-point.

IT HELPS
Well yes, the LEDs are a little bit blinding, but hey, the added bonus is a nice blue light for my room or man-cave. Use sunglasses if necessary. Apart from that, I haven't yet used it for a gig, but trying it out at home, I achieved most of the sound quality improvement I was looking for with this unit, gaining some warm and slightly aggressive middle and lowest end, and losing a little of the unwanted stuff in between the two. The higher end frequencies didn't seem to be affected by the sliders. That's to be expected with my fretless bass, which sounds as hard as I want it to, and I don't do a lot of slapping. All in all, the gain was worth the money.

good eq, not for the simplists
it's a good eq:10 bands, volume gain, fancy blue led. I bought this for my acoustic mini pedal board. but this guy required 18V DC supply. As long as you are OK with it, this is a good. For me, it wasn't. I could see some nosie when I increase gain. Much better than boss pedal.

Amazing performance with one major flaw...LEDs are blinding!!
Replaced R13, R37, and R46 which are 2.2kohms with 33kohm 0805 SMD resistors. This effectively decreased the brightness of the LEDs to a far more comfortable level. Not an easy procedure unless you have SMD rework tools.Quality of the pedal is excellent, highly effective shaping tone, 18VDC of headroom, and has a very low noise floor. It is pricey but the quality/reliability is there.Well worth the investment!

Great EQ, ruined by blinding LEDS
As others have mentioned. This EQ is great, but for some reason the people at Dunlop seem to think we all want to be *BLINDED* by these incredibly bright LEDS on each fader. I am keeping mine, but I will be cracking it open to perform the resistor mod necessary for reducing the brightness of the LED’s. If you don’t have the skills, or the tools necessary to modify this pedal to reduce the LED brightness — I’d buy a different pedal. The LED’s really are *VERY* bright.Notably: the way Dunlop represents this pedal in its advertising materials has obviously been photoshopped — the blue LED’s in the EQ sliders are so blindingly bright that they overpower everything around them and wash everything in blue light.

Perfect for what I needed
I’m mainly using this a a boost pedal for solos but it subsequently thickens the overall sound w some lush tones so it’s a win win for me😎

Not sure?!
Hard to tell if it’s on or off without working LED I have to remember. Not what I was expecting
