I am going into hospital for an operation and need a wide leg pair of comfortable trousers. These looked like they would fit my requirements. I’m normally a size 16/18. Size 18 on top 16 on bottom. All my trousers are 16’s and as long as I wear a top that covers my tummy they are fine. I’m probably in truth a 17! Having done a bit of research I settled on these. Looking at reviews I settled on size 18m. I thought I’d rather have them a little bigger for sitting around in, which I will be doing a lot. I also need them to be very wide at the bottom. I will be in plaster then a boot for at least 2 month. They have mostly great reviews, but I as probably most people always look at the negatives! However, I figured there were a small percent of bad reviews in comparison to the good reviews. They arrived in good time. Packaged in a reasonable strong plastic bag. Inside was a note requesting any complaints be dealt with directly with them before leaving a negative review, which seems to be quite a common practice theses days. I took the trousers and tried them on. They went on very comfortably. I could of probably got away with a 16 because they are stretchy but they are also clingy so I don’t think it matters either way. The length is perfect for me. I am 5’6 which I know, as I had my pre assessment the other week. They come to below my ankle/top of foot with slippers on. They have a m and s collection label at the waist band and a ripped size label which states 18 regular on the back seam. Given a couple of negative reviews mentioned holes and discolouration I went over them carefully. They I would say are in perfect condition. The only reason I’ve given 4 not 5 stars is because the quality is as good as I expected. I know m and s are not quite what they use to be, I don’t usually shop there except for undies. However, I did think they would have been a little thicker. They also look a bit like a black pair of trousers that have been ironed and have a little sheen. Not overly so but slight. I have my doubts how long they will last, probably the length of time I am wanting them!! That said I do believe they are brand new, never warn or washed and a very good price. Not too sure but are M and S collection their cheaper clothing range?? Anyway, I am more than happy with them.It’s now February 2020, these trousers have washed and worn extremely well. They still look like new. They have not stretched or become mis shaped in any way. They wash ever so well, even getting away without ironing if folded correctly coming out of the drier. My husband has been in charge of the washing and therefore they’ve survived many a mixed wash!! They look better now than when I first received them!! I’m putting them up to a five star! Given the price they are very very good value. I bought them in October, started wearing them in December (first week had op) and have worn them a lot since then. They have been regularly washed each week since then. Really pleased.Further edit……It’s now June 2022 and I’m still wearing them!!! Mainly around the house, but they are still going strong! They are soooooo comfortable I will be gutted if they ever wear out!! They are as you can imagine not as clean black/new looking but still quite decent if I really had to pop to local shop in. They still fit exactly as when I first put them on. The only downside, and it’s entirely my fault, is that I must have splashed a tiny (and I mean tiny, 3mm) blob of bleach on them. I tried to colour with a black permanent marker, but it didn’t quite take. However, you can’t really notice unless up close. These have been without doubt one of the best buys ever!! Not too sure if they are still the same product now, but you can’t go wrong if they are!

I thought these trousers would be cheap and nasty but they are not at all, they are certainly good enough to wear everyday at work which I do, I work in the NHS. They are very comfortable and stretchy but keep their shape well and are not flimsy.Much more comfortable than scrubs which don't fit me anywhere.I would suggest getting a size smaller, I bought an 18 which I am but a 16 would have fit better, I am bottom heavy and these are just slightly too big. I will definitely buy another pair in a smaller size and keep the larger ones for the gym.

I love these joggers because they are 90% cotton and therefore comfortable to wear when it is hot. They are good for casual wear - lounging, shopping, casually hanging out with friends - ( though not dont that much in the last few months. They wash reasonably well and when they get too tatty I wear them for decorating and household maintenance.

I have several pairs of these bought from m& s. I love them. Very sadly these must be m & s rejects. It’s hard to explain but they just do not fit properly. They look like they do but are uncomfortable around the bum area. The material is the same but the cut is very different. I am so disappointed . They also cost a £1 more than actual m& s!

I just wanted a cheap pair of comfortable trousers for wearing round the house but smart enough to go out if needed and these fit the bill perfectly. They are very nice quality and very comfortable. Being only 5ft 2" i did have to cut about 10cm! off the bottom of the legs but as they were so cheap this wasn't an issue. I'm very pleased and hoping that i can get more in blue & gray if they come back into stock.

Bought these trousers for walking in as opposed to wearing jeans. Very comfortable. Had to shorten the legs as quite long. Otherwise happy with them

Fits nicely, band elastic shifts during washing but easy to adjust back. Comfy, warm and good to move in whilst cycling.
