I purchased the Luna knee pillow hoping that it would help relieve my sciatica pain while I sleep. Sadly, that is not the case - it aggravated it rather than providing pain relief. Even though it didn't work for me, the pillow is the perfect size, firm yet soft, and comfortable. However, the cover snags easily and will slide around while sleeping. The cover is silky soft and hard to grab and hold. If it moves during the night, you just have to hope you can get ahold of the Luna label that is on the outside to reposition it. If it had side handles, it would be easier to position the pillow. In my opinion, if Luna merely redesigned the washable cover, it would enhance the pillow's functionality and quality of the overall product, which would then make it a good value for the money.

I had purchased a different knee pillow to help align my hip at night on doctor's advice, and it was a little too small for me so I purchased the large version of this Luna. The good news is, it's super comfortable, the perfect size for my legs (I'm a little on the heavy side) and this shape is much more functional than the rounder shapes that are available. The disappointing thing about it, and what's keeping it at 3 stars instead of 5, is that it doesn't come with a strap to keep it in place. The very nature of sciatica hip pain causes me to shift occasionally in the night, and when I do, the pillow shifts with me and my legs fall out of place. I don't notice until I then have the sharp kind of pain that comes from misalignment, and that wakes me up, I realize the pillow has moved, and I have to go searching under the covers to find it, get re-adjusted, and then try to get back to sleep. If you're a side sleeper that *never moves*, then this could be your five-star pillow. If there were a strap for separate purchase, I'd be all over it. I'm just sad that I spent $20+ on this pillow assuming it had a strap like all the others, and now I'm going to have to go spend another $20+ on another pillow that might be a smaller size or not have the cooling foam just so it has a strap. :-( Vendor: If you have a strap I can have, this review immediately turns to 5 stars!

My chiropractor suggested using a knee pillow at night for my hip pain since I’m a side sleeper. I purchased a different brand first. I tend to stay cold except when I sleep, and then I get hot. The other pillow just made that worse, so I went looking for one that claimed to be cooling. i was a skeptic before I opened the package, but this one is no joke. It’s always cold to the touch before I go to sleep, and doesn’t make my bed feel warmer overnight. I’m impressed by that feature alone. It’s not huge, which is good because I toss and turn a lot at night and I’ve finally learned how to turn over with this thing between my knees. As for whether or not it helps with the pain…well, I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and that remains to be seen. I don’t think that’s the pillow’s fault, so I would still recommend it to side sleepers who sleep hot and have hip pain.

I usually use a regular pillow in between my knees when I sleep and it’s often uncomfortable, although it still sort of helps with my lower back pain. Sleeping with this pillow has taken away the discomfort and and it’s not nearly as bulky and awkward as a regular pillow. It’s firm and offers good lower back support while you sleep. Not as much adjusting is needed when trying to get comfy in bed and I even sometimes use it as a neck pillow. Overall it’s a pretty great gadget and I help you sleep better.
