I bought two of these recently for an ninety-four year old friend who suffers from arthritis in her hands. These were to replace two different types I had bought for her previously, one of which had burst after a number of weeks, leaking pink silicone everywhere, the others being too firm for her to squeeze.These are better, in my opinion, than the ones made from solid plastics as they offer reasonable resistance to squeezing and return to their shape afterwards, but are not so hard as to make it painful to grip for a person with inflamed joints. Being more flexible, they also mould themselves to the user's hands making it less likely that they will drop them (another problem my friend had with the harder types). They have a comfortable fabric surface and the bead design also allows a greater range of finger and wrist exercises.My friend is delighted with them and uses them whenever watching TV etc., just to keep her hands supple. She is a keen bridge player and was finding difficulty dealing the cards. Now she can shuffle and deal the cards with confidence!In fact, she likes them so much that she has been telling friends and family about them and has now asked me to order three more pairs for her to give to them.Don't be put off by the price. As with most things, you get what you pay for. These really work, won't burst or perish and are well made so they look as though they should last a long time.

I have weak hands because of a bout of arthritis years ago. I now go to the gym regularly but have never put in any effort to strengthen up my hands. I sit watching television squeezing this ball for about 30 mins each night and my hands feel stronger and capable of more precise movement now.

I'm very pleased with this exercise ball. It is soft and light and although I cannot yet grip it, I can roll it along the arm of my chair using my hand and forearm and feel it massaging my damaged muscles and tendons, after a wrist fracture which led to my hand becoming virtually completely 'seized up'. I can also - just - pick it up and begin to try to grip it,while it accommodates itself to the shape of my hand. Very comfortable to use! The outer cover is of a black knitted jersey fabric and seems reasonably hard-wearing, while the inner granules feel 'squishy.' My only reservations are the price - quite high for a simple ball - and the fact that it has a large label sticking out of it which is uncomfortable to handle and will have to be cut off.Nevertheless, I am glad that I paid a bit more to get this lovely soft ball.

It's very good, although mine arrived and was a leopard skin pattern on it. Like some really bad 80's fashion. I have to keep it in my pocket to avoid the trauma from looking at it. For some reason it makes my hand feel dry when I squeeze it, but apart from that it is actually very good. Sometimes my had closes up in the morning and I can squeeze this under my locked fingers and start to work it, within a short while my joints have warmed up and I can open my hand. On the whole I'm satisfied, just wish it had come in blue like the picture!

Very good for strengthening your wrists

It is OK but too small, my hands are not huge but I cannot get a good grip going. If 50% bigger it would be good

My order for the IMAK Stress Ball did not get off to a great start. The first time I ordered it, it never arrived and I finally got a refund from Amazon. The second time I ordered it came promptly but had a hole in it so little pieces of filling were in the packaging and continued to fall out of the ball as I picked it up. Once I had sewn up the hole and started using the ball to exercise both my hands, I was pleased that I had persevered and mended it. I would hesitate to recomend it wholeheartedly due to it arriving in a damaged condition which, considering the price is rather poor.

I have arthritis in my hands.Since using this product I have obtained considerable pain relief. The product is as advertised and arrived by post earlier than the expected receive by date. The Stress Ball is easy to use,pleasant to the touch and washable. With daily use,I am getting greater flexibility in my fingers. I recommend this product with confidence.It is well worth the money at £11.99.
