I have lamps that take a small screw bulbs and I needed light enough to read by. These bulbs were bright enough for me and compared well with other 100 watt equivalent LED bulbs.

Excellent bulbs. Very bright and a nice clear daylight colour without being too harsh. I inherited wall lights with frosted shades in my current house. They were meant to take 40 watt bulbs. They had been fitted with supermarket “warm” halogen bulbs which seemed to blow regularly. I tried some LED bulbs that were meant to be equivalent. They were so gloomy and yellow that it was impossible to read and I found the room depressing. I then tried various bulbs from different manufacturers, all with equally miserable results. These have transformed the room. They seem to be brighter than the old halogen bulbs but not as harsh as the cold white halogens I prefer in the kitchen. These are by far the best bulbs I have bought for general use.
