The live album companion to News for Lulu, recorded at gigs in Basel and Paris in January 1989. The trio interpret hard bop compositions by Sonny Clark, Hank Mobley, Kenny Dorham and Freddie Redd, plus one each by Big John Patton and Misha Mengelberg; all condensed, modulated and transmogrified by Zorn s alto, Lewis s trombone, and Frisell as the one-man rhythm section on guitar.
