A much-loved music and literacy resource for Early Years - now with a bright new cover! This work contains 15 lively chants and stories retold by Kaye Umansky. It includes favorites such as Goldilocks , Little Red Riding Hood , Pinocchio , Chicken Licken and Cinderella with musical development activities by Helen MacGregor. Review: Fun musical stories - Looking forward to using this book. Review: Fantastic Resource - I use this book at everytopic. It has so many stories to play with instruments and in an interactive way with the children, that it is become a regular during sessions at my setting. It also seems to fit with most topics, if not the other books by Kate Umansky are invaluable to the fun and learning - essential resourses to get those musical stepping stones. Brilliant for all childcare workers.

Not for the very young!!!
Bought this book to use with 2 year olds in nursery, as advertised "for the very young"! Is much better for pre-school and reception children or even above. Songs and stories are long and complicated and not repetative enough. Children need to rehearse them many times! Ideal for children who want to sit and listen for about 15-20 mins at a time. Have managed to get a few good ideas from the book that I could modify for 2 year olds though, so not all lost!!!!
