Yes, It's for cat5, Cat5e & cat6 cables

is this matte or glossy finish ?

It looks like any plastic wall plate. It's smooth plastic, but I wouldn't say it's particularly glossy. If matte and glossy are the only choices, I guess I'd say glossy.

Will this work with cat 7 cable?

A stamp on the connector say CAT 6, so I would guess it can not handle CAT 7.
