Bright light. - I already understood from reviews that the batteries inserted turns this on and right afterward the batteries removed turns it off. It's a tad bit clumsy dropping the 1st battery in to get it to drop flat, but realizing the price point and design, that's nothing to really add or subtract rating. Once inserted in the barrel, which was a near perfect fit, it seemed to work perfect. I didn't have rear sights to adjust but wanted to confirm if the side shell holder I attached with its top plate allowed a decent line of sight to the front fiber optic sight I recently installed. Just pointing at a wall about 30 feet away, line of sight across the top to the front sight showed to be within an inch of the laser dot on the wall. And the left to right alignment was near exact from 30 feet away. Comes in a nice little storage case.
