Kyoto: The Monocle Travel Guide Series

We had a wonderful trip in Kyoto using almost exclusively the Monocle Guide and especially following the walking tours. The recommendations included many spots away from tourists we wouldn't have stumbled upon. We had a particular good time at the jazz bar Lush Life, chatting with the owners - see picture attached.

Very interesting book

Badly designed and poorly thought thru. Go get another guide book to the very interesting city. Monocle - you need to rethink this book, not up to your standards.

As with all that Monocle publish, this is accomplished and value for money.

A slightly alternative type of travel book. It showcases many special places, focusses on art, design, food and includes a few pages of essays and articles where writers describe their personal experiences. There's 36 in the series at this moment. Collect them all and begin your bucket list of places to go.

Great book with lots of exciting places to visit although could do with an updated version

This book was an amazing asset on my trip to Kyoto. Great finds and wonderful off the beaten path places that are recommended. A must read for those travelling to Kyoto!

Très bon guide , dommage que les plans des villes et des attractions temples etc soient aussi mal faites et très peu pratiques , vous prenez toujours les visites insolites par le petit chat de l'aiguille
