Perfect - it allows you to plug a pro-quality uni-directional XLR condenser microphone into an Android phone. This allows you to use higher quality voice recording apps - eg RecForge - for broadcast quality material. The lead is long enough for you to record yourself from the Android device while using the microphone, though you could also buy an extension lead to get longer shots.NB the reason this widget is necessary is that Android devices use a 3.5mm jack socket, but with 4 parts to the plug, whereas normal headsets are three parts - the extra carries the microphone.I bought this and a superb Konig microphone for half the price of an IRig microphone - the only integrated solution on the market.

I was initially in two minds about buying this as Flash-Mics are getting cheaper but I like the flexibility that I can link up via Skype to the community radio station I work for (The HitMix 107.5) - but my gamble paid off - teamed up with a pair of headphones and an AKG D150 mic - everything sounds great - both linkups and recording onto my Android phone! A great product and saves me getting the soldering iron out too!

Not entirely bad but no darn use without a preamp. Certainly not broadcast quality - worth poking for a solution that inckudes. Preamp.

Superb product, great quality. I've used it for dozens of live radio broadcasts and it has worked a treat every time. No audio adjust level like on other box type solutions. But, it's small and light and great for international travel.I use it in conjunction with Luci Live for iPhone and iPad and it works perfectly. Must order a replacement, in case I loose it!
