Is this iron dual electricity for use when traveling?

I purchased this specifically for Ireland and it worked very well. I did not feel that there was any loss of heat with the transfer of voltage.

What is the length of the barrel (just the part that heats up)?

I believe 4 inches. I have very very long hair and can curl without issue.

Who makes a 1/2 inch curling iron that is good for thin hair?

In my experience, thin hair does not hold a curl after a few minutes at best. So, a smaller curling iron makes tighter curls that therefore last longer while dropping out just enough to look more relaxed. Comb out gently with a big comb or use your fingers.
