Love it
Dithered over whether to buy this or not based on the one slightly negative review that was already on here. Glad I decided to go for it as it is a brilliant clock. The numbers are large so easy to read when half asleep and the "bright" light is actually a subdued green colour that can be made brighter for a few seconds by pressing the button on top (personally I haven't needed to do this.) Anyone who finds this light too bright to sleep with must normally sleep in a coal mine or somewhere equally dark where not a chink of light manages to get in! Similar response to the viewing angle - my bedside table is slightly lower than my head when I'm lying down and I have no problem whatsoever in seeing it clearly. I have even raised it up to see if the viewing changes and it is only when it's about 6 inches above my eye line that it becomes difficult to read and I can't imagine anyone has their clock that much higher than their bed. If you want a simple to operate, easy to read bedside clock then this ticks all the boxes.

Deep sleepers
I’m a deep sleeper and this doesn’t wake me up so I wouldn’t recommend if you can’t wake up to a normal iPhone alarm

Too bright?
It is very difficult to find an alarm clock which you can truly see at night, without pressing a button to illuminate it. Some are too dim and some are too small, unless you have 20/20 vision. This digital clock has large numerals, over 3cm high. It is also very bright and easy for those with deteriorating sight to read it, but probably so bright it will not permit proper sleep. It also has a very limited viewing angle at night, when illuminated. If your bedside table is the same height as your head you will need to place packing under the rear of the clock to view it.Another drawback is that the light cannot be turned off, or the brightness altered.

Time always visible without the need to press any buttons.
No need to struggle when half asleep in finding the right button to press to see the time in the dark - as patented technology ensures this automatically occurs. I personally have this on the floor instead of on the bedside table to lessen the brightness at eye level. Recommend keep away from TV, as infra-red beam from the remote and differing brightness from screen of tv will interfere - making the green light emanating from the clock flicker. All in all, a quality clock, and highly recommend this battery operated marvel of technology.
