Misleading, device is not in OpenWRT list of supported devices
Only supports FriendlyWRT, which is the firmware supplied by the manufacturer (FriendlyELEC) of the device. As of 6/18/2025 there is still no official OpenWRT firmware available, even though the r2s plus has been available for at least six months.

Works Great
I was looking for a device that could run Pi-hole, this works great. I know I'm not using it to its full potential, but that's ok. 32G onboard eMMC is nice.

Nanopi R2S Plus Wireless WiFi Computer Router OpenWRT, Rockchip RK3328
Not a bad little guy. Pretty easy to install what you want if you have the know how. Pretty good speeds. Using it for testing networks. Case is solid and easy to access.

Neat little device
I didn’t have any issue installing openWRT on this little box. I don’t have much use for it, but there’s a ton you can do with it.
