Quick Dam Water Activated Flood Barrier 10 Feet, 12-Pack

Campgrounds are not always graded like a normal city street and my spot happens to be an unofficial watershed of sorts from the dirt road behind my rig. Weight being a concern always, carrying around bags of sand is not an option. I ordered these and then went out and positioned a few of them to "corral" the runoff above my lot. Problem solved! Now I'm lake front and not lake-top property here and I'm so happy! I just leave them out there and they keep working for each round of rain (frequent this year). Someone ran over one of them and it flattened it. But, it seems to still be working. In another spot, some fool really smashed and turned on it with their truck tire. Some of the goo escaped and that spot did not recover. I'll have to put a new one out there. Luckily, I have extra because these weigh very little and I don't mind keeping them on hand in my storage bay. Highly recommend for RV crowd!

Did a great job of keeping water out; if you are planning to reuse, it takes a long time to dry out (I'm at six weeks and still not dry) & it can't be dried in the sun; also smaller sections are better, unless you're strong 17' of wet is VERY heavy -- unless you don't plan to recover/reuse them...

What a wonderful item to have in case of hurricane. We put this around the house where there are sliding doors and doors to prevent flooding from hurricane season. The wonderful thing is it activates when needed for example when the rain comes, the barrier swells to be affective water barrier. When the sun comes out, it drives and decreases in size ready for the next time the rain comes. So easy, convenient And affordable !

Quick Dam 10 foot is a unique product. It is a sandbag without sand. It is activated by water. I really love this product. However, of the 8 I purchased, 2 are defective. The 2 I'm referring to, when activated by water...a 2 foot section opened up and the gel like material made quite a mess.

I bought a 12 pack of 10 footers almost exactly 2 years ago. They started to stink so I removed them and went to order 12 more. $60 more, and according to the other comments, the stitching is bad. Not sure if they are upping the price because of the amount of people getting flooded, and it's just old fashioned price gouging, or the cost of materials. Either way, $5 a piece more seems extreme.
