LOVE this flirt pole, but the "quick release" detaches too easily & the velcro breaks down quickly
My pup LOVES flirt poles, and he's gone through quite a few attachments from another brand. The Race & Herd Cheeky Chase is our new favorite by far!I appreciate the shorter, considerably thicker handle because it makes it more comfortable to grip without my hand cramping up during sessions. It also makes it easier to tuck away or to transport since less space is required for storage. The squirrel immediately grabs my pup's attention. I initially thought the "quick release" feature of the squirrel's fluffy tail was brilliant. Unfortunately, it doesn't take much for it to be removed. My pup barely catches and tugs on it before it detaches. Additionally, the velcro wears pretty quickly so it seems to detach more easily w/ each subsequent use. At some point soon I expect that the attachments will give up the ghost, er, the squirrel? I anticipate that I will end up using attachments from our previous flirt pole once that occurs.

My Puppy Loves It!
You see similar things for a cat, but not a dog. I'm not sure why? My puppy loves this thing! I can get him to expand a lot of energy. The string, rod and the end toy is very sturdy. The only thing I don't love is that the tail pulls of (intentionally so). The tail is just a furry cloth and I think my pup could destory this quickly if I let him. In the end, you spend more time chasing him and the tail in his mouth. However, he loves to juct attack the main part of the toy that is attached. That part is thick and durable with a bell. So even without the tails, this thing is great. One of his favorite toys!

You Started a Dog & Cat Rivalry Over This
I have another flirt pole that is in a house in a different state so needed one for where I am.I really like this. The pole is 1/2 the length of my other one, making it possible to use inside. The pole is a length of metal (like a wand) pipe with a thick rope that runs inside the barrel then out to a loop. This one has a fuzzy, flat round “face” that rattles like a baby rattle to get their attention. My dog is perfectly happy with this. But there’s more! Included are two yellow “tails” with velcro attached to stick to the yellow rattle flat “head” (we choose to call it Squirrel Friend) on the rope so dogs get the sense of “catching”. These detach very easy so am glad my dog is col chasing the yellow flat rattle otherwise the game would always end in less than a second.I got the original long flirt pole after my dog kept lusting after kitty wands that were essent thesame thing (just kitty size & durability). Now the cat battles the puppy for HIS flirt pole/toy (but the empathy training is totally lost on the puppy, whois more than happy to go all mosh pit, my little punk rocker). So now it’s Kitty’s turn to glare wistfully as puppy chases Squirrel Friend.Been great for indoor play during adverse weather. Just make sure you have enough. clearance to wave the wand (it IS a metalpipe).

Dog Loves It
My dog loves this toy. He goes crazy for it. It's the perfect way to stimulate your dog, especially if you put this away for special occasions. My dog is highly destructive and this has so far sustained several play sessions. Highly recommend if you need a different way to stimulate your doggo!

My dog loved it at first, but it felt not that sturdy
The pole was tied up well at first, but I kept using it after a few days, and it was not as durable anymore. The knots holding the toy portion felt apart, and I had to re-tie it to fling it around. Also I was wondering how to shorten it, as there were no instructions. My dog loves it, of course, but after a few times, the squirrel tail's durability started to fall apart from pulling it.

My puppy is obsessed
This is the go to toy when I want to exhaust the puppy for bedtime. It is impossible to get the little thing out of her mouth after she gets it though and I think that bit will be destroyed in no time, but luckily there were 2 in the pack. Overall this toy is excellent for playing with puppy without me having to run around too much, I'm able to engage with her and run her around. I will say this activity is a lot for her so I don't do it for too long because I don't want her getting overtired. Overall highly recommend.

Needs A Different Toy
The stick and rope part of this flirt pole are good. They would work well for a light to moderate tugger. Probably not enough for a super heavy tugger or a dog who wants to chew heavily on the toy. My biggest critique is the toy that comes with it isn't very sturdy. It's fine for my puppy but I plan to buy a new toy that's sturdier.
