What has happened to JAK - I was not expecting such a poor story line that was so similar to earler books. The short one or two page chapters I also found annoying but realised that the format was necessary to make the 350 pages - otherwise the book would have been much much thinner. .In fact it could be said that it had lost the format that makes a book a good read, So many of her earlier novels had all the right ingredients, excellent storyline, great characters, books you just couln't put down. If this is the new style JAK then I for one do not like it

I enjoyed this latest book by Ms Quick. The story was darker than her previous works but otherwise is in her usual style and is told at a good pace with enough twists and turns to keep the interest high and the pages turning. There are many familiar tropes and characters in this book but there is also a good tale. The main women are strong, bold and bright, the men daring and caring. There is intrigue and adventure and of course romance. Yes it is formulaic and there are no surprises really but nonetheless a good yarn well told. 3.5 out of 5 stars for me

Somehow it was not up to her usual high standard. Normally I cannot put the book down. This time I read bits and came back to it and read more bits and finally I finished it. Never, never, never happened before as I read and reread and have reread ALL of her books.

The book arrived as stated and was in perfect condition. I enjoyed the mystery, but the love story wasn't as gripping as they have been in Amanda's previous books I've read. I would recommend it as a good mystery though.

Amanda Quick delivers again; mystery, society highs and lows, family dynamics and deep secrets, and of course romance. I loved it, I finished reading with a smile on my face feeling very happy!

Love Amanda Quick. Haven't got this one so got it. No disappointments. Good story line, and characters. It's going to stay on my shelf!

Having always been a fan this wasn't one of her best, the characters too like others of old, slightly disappointing

I'm a fan, I enjoy everything that Ms Krentz/Castle/Quick writes.
