Provence Style: The Art of Home Decoration

Good quality copy and pictures. I'm enjoying the home, table and overall settings. One thing I'm not sure of is why the author would suggest or approve of using tarnished flatware, which is not acceptable in a fashionable setting. Speedy shipping and reliable seller. Thank you !

Captures everything from the spectacular chateau to the most humble cottage, with naturally distressed exteriors, interiors, furniture and garden artifacts, along with rarely equalled textiles and quilts. You can tell people actually live in these rooms; they are not the sterile, antiseptic, impersonal interiors of other French style manuals. Each page is alive with touches of individuality and the human spirit. This book is a treat that one can return to time and time again.

I originally took this book out of the library only to find many of the pictures were cut out and torn out. I realized that possibly Amazon might have it. So when I searched for it on Amazon and the book appeared on the site listing, I just had to get my own copy of this book. The pictures are wonderful and the text is informative. I am so pleased with the quality and condition of the product. It is a welcome addition to my personal library.

I purchased this for research and was satisfied with the contents. The photographs are lovely and I came away with a greater appreciation for the beauty of this almost legendary place. I suppose someone who had lived in Provence, or traveled there extensively, might not find anything new here, but I was very pleased.

Sadly, this book turned out to be very similar to another book I already had, The New French Country. The chapter heading were almost identical! It also turned out to be mostly about the author's own home and was very personal. The photography was, beautiful, however.

I have enjoyed reading this book. The photographs are great, and the history of provence style interesting. This will be a bookI will turn to often for study, and inspiration. Great dealer, fast shipping, and the book was in perfect condition. I would buy from this book seller again. debi

If one is going to buy only one book on Provencial architecture and design, this is the one to get. Well organized though and full of wonderful pictures and text, this is my go to book and style and design inone of my favorite places in the world.

Wonderful...reading it makes me feel as though I have been transported to France. Good book to look at when it is raining outside!
