Welding shields reliably protect the eyes and face from arc radiation and provide a perfect shield of the head and neck from metal splashes, welding and grinding points. From starting and igniting the electrode to welding seam testing, electrode change and material handling, the visor can stay down. A random 'flashing' - e.g. when stapling - is excluded. With arc ignition, the field of view of the welding shields is completely automatically darkened within only 0.00033 seconds. The welding process is glare-free observed. The protection level (blackout level for optimal visibility, depending on the welding process or arc thickness) and the response behaviour (sensitivity) of the field of view are continuously adjustable at any time using controls on the outside of the helmet - one hand remains free for the welding torch.
