Unofficial Taylor Swift Crochet: 20+ Projects Inspired by the Music and Style Icon (Celebrity Crochet)

I laughed when I first saw this book listed. It seemed so random, but then somehow made sense the more I thought about it? The tie-ins to Taylor are on point and there are a variety of different patterns for different skill levels. The instructions made sense for me, someone who crochets as a hobby. There are definitely some patterns in here that I will plan to make for some of my more obsessed Swifty friends.

I am trying to make any of the sweaters and all of the yarns are speciality and have been discontinued by Lion Brand yarn. I went through my Joann Fabric tonight looking for ANY yarns that could go with the project and they were just not there. After some internet searching they don't exist anymore. I will be able to sub in other colors once I figure out an equivalent. The one that will be really hard to swap is the yarn for the Wildest Dreams sweater which is a discontinued Christmas yarn that I have not found any similar product out there. It's a cute idea, but it really needed to be made with yarns that were going to be easier to find.

This book contains 20 crochet projects that range in experience level from beginner to advanced. This would be great for someone either just getting into crocheting or who wants to expand their repertoire. I'm especially excited about the inclusion of THE cardigan, which would be such a fun project for the Fall! The beginning of the book has helpful explanations about the abbreviations used in patterns, yarn weights, and hook size that would be particularly useful for a new crafter or someone who needs a refresher.

I'm not a fan of Taylor Swift's, but I love to crochet so I wanted to see what this book was all about. I don't understand the references, but some of these patterns are stunning! I can't wait to try to crochet the "Back to December" Hooded Cowl and "All Too Well" Scarf. I love how they teach some more advanced techniques, including the foundation crochet and inserting a zipper. This book is great for someone at any skill level. While this book is perfect for Taylor Swift fans, this book is great for anyone who loves fashion and crocheting!
