I believed the answers to this question and was disappointed. It is a blend of real vanilla and vanillin (artificial flavouring). **Q: What Is The Shelf Life?** A: I googled this answer and it is 5 years keeping it in a cool dark area. Keep in mind cool is not refrigerator. A 33-ounce bottle of this goes a long way so I am saving money. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flavor is better than the grocery store stuff. Obviously you can use it in baking but I use it mostly to flavor my morning coffee.
