I was extremely happy with this product, until this morning as I was cleaning my retainer, I heard something different, as I was waiting for the 90 second timer to stop, smoke started coming out of the bottom, where I assume the little motor is. It smelt so bad and for fear of a fire, I immediately unplugged it. Allowed the smoke to dissipate, cleaned the item and waited about an hour before trying again. An hour later, plugged it back in, the strange noise from earlier seemed to be gone, however, once again in the middle of the 90 second cycle, the unfamiliar noise returned as well as the smoke. Sadly, this item didn't last very long. I would suggest looking for something else even if a bit more $ is spent. Disappointed that I will now have to be shopping for another one.
