Stanley 033805 Fatmax Tape 10m/33ft

I’m a new PM. This tape makes me feel and look like not a new PM. You, your team, and your boss want this tape. The magnet is a game changer and the thick letters leave me wondering how I ever got measurements before. The weight of the tape makes it feel nice and sturdy, I wish the tape measure itself was a firm 3” rather than 3 1/8” but that’s typical and clearly marked. Size fits right in my bigger palm. The design is great given the sturdiness and larger lettering with a magnet to help hold in place on solo jobs. Great utility and tool to have. Good bang for buck - but check Home Depot for a 2 for 1 sale that occurs every once in awhile…

I’m a sheet metal worker so I don’t have to measure things over 16’ very often but I carry a 25’ tape in my bag just in case. I always tell people to buy a 16’ tape because it weighs less and fits in the palm of your hand a lot better than a 25’. This was the first tape I fell in love with since I got into my areas sheet metal union. It’s a great tape for a great price, fits in the palm of your hand nicely and it’s not too expensive relative to others. I’ve dropped it many times and it never broke. This tape does note display 1/8 inch markings to make it easier to read then this isn’t the tape for you if you need that. My only complaint is I had 10 years of use from mine and I decided to buy one on Amazon from their preowned/return item section to save a few bucks because it said the product was “like new and will come in different packaging than it’s original”. I ended up returning it because you can tell it was most likely a homeowner who bought the tape measure to do a job or two around the house and then had plans on returning it once finishes. It has dents and scratches on the outer plastic part of the tape measure and the actually tape itself had scuffs on it and was worn out. It was basically false advertising on amazons part so I ultimately retuned it. I had just bought the used one because it said it was like new but that was false and it was a savings of something like 3-4 dollars…I’d rather pay the extra 3-4 dollars for a brand new one that has been used and abused already.

This guy doesn't need a review. Its only the best one, unless you need a bigger one. Everyone wants to borrrow my fatmax.....NO! You definately do not need a fatmax to measure to see if your furniture will fit. This is the one that will fall several stories, and you hope its ok. It normally is fine, never seen one grenade like most other tapes will. Its for construction workers, and if your not a tradesman, buy something cheaper, you'll think the 16' is "heavy". I reckon it is for such a little tape.

It's just like all my other FatMax tapes exept for the lovely difficult to remove sticker leaving sticky residue on the face that identifies the legnth... but that's not Stanley's fault.

Well, I bought 3 of these tapes because I finally broke my last one. I was a carpenter for many years framing, doing crown, and finally all trim work on stain grade stairs, hand rails, etc. This was the only tape i would buy and if I took good care of them and not leave them out in the rain, they would last years in my bags using them 100 times a day. There are only a few tools I always cary in my bags. A tape measure, a chalk box, a nail set, a cats paw, a pencil, a chisel, a speed square, a utility knife, and a very high quality forged hammer with an ash wood handle. Depending on the work I was doing I have about 6 different hammers. These are my hand tools of the trade and of course a mag 77 saw or a new DeWalt worm drive. This 30 ft. max was my choice of tape measures. They were durable, easy to read, accurate, and well made. Long enough for doing almost anything except form work. I have not had a chance to use the new tapes yet. Many reviews said they were not the quality they were, even a few years ago. If that is true, this is a sad day. I’ll write an update should these new tapes fail to serve me well.

Unbreakable if you not use ships.

I used to have a 25' Stanley Tape Measure that I swear said like "Ultra Fatmax" and it had a two inch wing front for grabbin' onto stuff, and I don't even think it was Yellow it was Orange. It could extent like 16 - 18 feet before it buckled and I could have assembled Mount Olympus inside of a day with that thing. I had it for two years before some stack of skin folds hit a sheer peddle early and destroyed it. The sorrow and rage I felt in that moment is known to very few humans on this planet. ALL that said, while this Tape Measure isn't THAT tape measure, it's still a very good one. Thanks Stanley, and if you ever start making the Orange "Super" Fatmax (or whatever it was called) with the wide front wing, if you ever make that one again, lemmie know.

Product is awesome as all Stanley fat max tapes are best on the market hands down. Sadly mine got caught in a 1” gap on some party walls and couldn’t get it out so the tape broke lol.

The depiction of the tape measure shows the American flag above the printing. The tape measure I received has no such flag, and is not American made. The product is not defective, just misrepresented

Great tape useful for longer measurements. Only accurate to 1/8 inch. Thin tape with claw makes it easier for one person to make measurements by themselves.
