These downspout screens are easy to install. I've got maple trees near enough to the house to fill the gutters and clog the downspout port. This mess help a lot getting leaves out of the gutter drain but plan to clean it frequently. You will have to go up to your gutters and clean it to avoid all the gutters getting full of water. Even if you have a mess on your gutters, small leaves will go in when getting wet and your gutter will get clogged and full of water. It makes more sense to have a filter system down at the end of your gutter since you won’t have to use a ladder to go to your roof.

They do their job. Strains your gutter drains for debris and lets water drain. You do need to periodically clean these, so they do not get filled and clogged.
