Compact for my small cabinets which is a big plus. Powered up fine and seems quite sturdy. The bags that fit it were in the suggested purchase and the price point for the unit and bags were both very good. Very pleased with this purchase.

Always I've been using those standard soldering pencil to soldier my electronic devices, although always it was a little cumbersome to turn on the soldering pencil just to soldier something small or quick like 2 cables and I think it tooks more the wait to the soldier pencil get pretty hot, than the time soldering.This little portable soldering pencil,has been my solution!Is ready in just 10 seconds, and you are ready to go.I liked It's portable!! You don't have to connect it to the AC power.!The heat is pretty good.I liked this kit that comes with the soldering pencil, 3 different tips to soldier with different shape, and a solid rosin Flux. Although I didn't like to soldier with this rosin I prefer the pasta or liquid flux.Having a good plastic box, to protect and have all the accesories inside.I realized, the soldering pencil is good for really small and short jobs.Maybe because the battery, but can be hot, but not enough for long time, also the heat could be transfered to the part to hold the pencil.So yes, it's good, but just for short term. The good againd takes just 10 seconds.Also you can have 3 heat levels.This soldering pencil is good for those small jobs in my home.I'm glad to have it.

Can a USB soldering Iron compare to one that has been on the market for years? In some ways yes, other ways no. For small details it works pretty well, I like the weight and the detachable and changeable nodes, but I do prefer a powered model just for ease. I think it's worth it for portability and would certainly keep it in my tool kit.

It's a nice format, very lightweight. I used it once when I first got it, but it didn't work very well - the tip can't hold enough heat when solder is applied. Maybe a VERY light solder application would work. But now a few weeks later, after charging fully, it won't turn on at all. I threw it away.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this. For a $20 kit, it was a pleasant surprise. This will not replace a corded unit when there is a lot to be done or when it is just more practical but it is a great kit to have when away from the shop and a quick fix is required. As described, the battery only lasts about 20 minutes on high setting, so quick fixes is really what this is about anyway. It is not the highest quality but I feel that it is a great value for the price. Though the usage time is limited, the portability more than makes up for that in my opinion and I would recommend this if that suits your purposes.

The Meakest Cordless USB Rechargeable Soldering Iron kit fills a good utility space. It's inexpensively made, but also inexpensively priced. There are lots of more expensive portable soldering irons out there, and many have digital controls and screens on the side and can be controlled to the degree. This is not that, but it's also priced well under those.For that purchase price, you get a serviceable soldering kit. The iron with three tips, solder, solid rosin, a tiny stand with tiny sponge, and a charging cable all in a case. The case and especially the insert isn't the sturdiest, but it didn't have to be included so it's nice to have and does work well to keep all the bits together. It's a Harbor Freight level of quality - good enough to do the job for most.This soldering iron is a utility player. I mentioned digital controls on the fancier ones. This one has a single button and three heat settings you can cycle between. LEDs show you the setting you're on. It heats pretty quickly and solders small stuff quite well. On one charge it seems like it gets about 15-20 minutes total runtime on high - note that it automatically shuts off after 10 minutes, but being battery powered I try to shut it off before setting it down anyway. Essentially, it's good for small jobs and quick fixes, and ideal for bringing the soldering iron to the job rather than the job to the workbench. This is the soldering iron you want to fix that trailer wiring harness or solder that connection under the dash of the car. It's probably not the soldering iron you want to install header pins on a dozen Raspberry Pi boards, at least not in one sitting.I think it checks the box of being good enough for the right price for the occasional user. If you solder a lot, this won't be your main piece of equipment (though it might still be handy to keep around for the occasional field work). If you're the average homeowner, it might be the only soldering iron you need. It's better than the butane ones (I never found one of those that worked reliably well for me), way better than that Cold Heat garbage that came out a while back, and safer and more proper than just soldering with a butane torch which I have done in a pinch. It's worth the price at under $20.
