I heard about this device from an outdoor enthusiast. I decided to give it a try. I got the one with a light included and it's rechargeable. It emits a whisp of smoke that is the insecticide. You don't have to have it right next to you. It creates an area of protection. Once it gets going, there are no mosquitoes!! I have an outdoor sofa and I've been out enjoying it every evening with no bugs bothering me. I love this thing!

This is a long lasting mosquito deterrent. They work great and you can’t smell them. My problem is I forget to turn them off. They’re so good and quiet, worth the money not to get bit by a mosquito.

I have always reacted strongly to bug bites. Mosquitos and other bitey bugs love me, and I get big reactions to their bites. Not a great combination, especially for someone who lives in a very buggy area in the Desert Southwest.I've tried lots of various bug deterrents, but Thermacell is the first one that has actually made a huge difference in my outdoor experiences.It takes a few minutes to warm up and create a barrier, so usually my husband takes it out and sets it up before we plan to go out. There is a detectable scent - I don't find it either pleasant or unpleasant, but it's there.But this thing works.Before we started using Thermacell, my daughter and I were getting dozens of bites, and were absolutely miserable. After we started using Thermacell, the bites went to near-zero.The refills are very easy to use, and they last an acceptable period of time. If we forget and leave one out overnight, we'll have to replace the refill, but if we use it only when we are outside, it lasts a while.

These last the time stated and it’s one thing I’ve found that actually works as claimed so I’ll keep buying it. No obnoxious smells, smoke, or vapor. Natural ingredients are a plus.

Love the Thermacell Mosquito Repllents! These things are incredible; Outside in evening and No Bites!I have what mosquitos love, but these things work GREAT!

Its not foolproof but it does notably decrease the number of mosquitoes and subsequent mosquito bites. It does last a while so one refill usually lasts a few weeks using it a few hours a day in the evenings. Just remember to cap it off between uses to reduce evaporation. Its nice to be able to sit outside without having to spray myself down with DEET and potentially ruin my clothes. With mosquito spray I would get zero bites, but they would still hover around me. With the Thermacell, I get about 2-3 bites but really no mosquitoes flying around and no DEET on my clothes, so that's the compromise I'm taking.

Works exactly as described. Keeps a charge for a good long time. I only needed the 20 ft area unit because its just me on my patio most of the time. It is important to let it warm up for 5-10 minutes to get the proper effect. I didn't figure this out until I read the directions ( what a concept, reading directions) . I like to outside for an hour or two after dinner so I set it outside while I do up my dishes, then its all ready for a nice sit! Works great!!!!
