I bought this product to practice using bear spray and the first time I used it I sprayed it twice for a couple of seconds each and it only sprayed about 10 feet.. Then later I assembled a class to use it a third time and it had no spray left. To my knowledge it never discharged accidentally nor did the safety come off and yet from the start it seemed defective. I would like a new one that actually has some propellant in it.

Spray pattern is just like the real thing. Good practice for those who have never used bear spray because the force and noise of the blast can be surprising.

I really don't understand how native English speakers can mistake this for a real bear spray. I'm a first generation immigrant who learned to speak English here and it was clear as day to me that this is NOT bear spray. It says INERT in the description!!!!!! The only reason I can think of, is that they see a low price, and think they got a steal, and want to blame it on the seller later. You can't find real bear spray for $20 anywhere. So read the description. It's VERY CLEAR what you're buying. And very helpful to learn how to use the actual spray. It works very well, and sprays far! We encountered couple of bears on a hike and I will not be unprepared again.

Everyone should purchase this in preparation for using the real one. Small price to pay.

This is not actual bear spray. It did not say it was training purposes when I purchased this back in June. Do not be deceived. So upset! I’ve traveled for 30 days to national parks thinking I had bear spray, until a park ranger let me know that I didn’t actually have bear spray. Thank God I hadn’t needed it. Very deceiving!!

My wife and I both wondered what it would be like to actually use a bear-spray canister...this answered that question (without actual debilitating spray, of course). Gave us an opportunity to get a feel for the process, which is sure to help if the time comes when we need to use it for real.
