Works with a Dremel rotary tool.
I used it with my Dremel 395 with a flex shaft and it works great, just make sure the speed dial on the tool is set to max. The pedal doesn't give a current rating, but I looked inside and it uses a solid state triac controller rated for 6 amps so it should work with most small brushed motor tools. The pedal is all plastic and a bit on the light side, but as long as you don't beat on it, it should be ok for hobby use; after all, the price is right.I use

Works as described
Hooked it up to my Dremel Multi-pro and it worked like a charm. Was able to control the speed at the lowest speed setting on the Dremel and the highest speed setting also. The pedal is plastic but unless you have giant feet and stomps on it, it should not break easily. Well worth the price considering how much the alternatives cost. Not only does this remove the need to turn the Dremel on and off constantly when I'm working on something, it also frees up my hands. Now I can switch speeds without having to constantly move the switch on the Dremel.

It's functional but not a true variable speed controller
First off itt is an inexpensive device don't expect much. It is made of all plastic design may not last long we will see. That said it works like a three stage switch for my dremel model 225 variable speed. So IT IS NOT a true variable pedal that goes slow to fast depending on how hard you press the pedal. IT IS NOT an anolog device. IT IS NOT solid state technology. IT IS A device using mechanical contact controls using step down resistance to provide reduced voltage output for what ever is plugged into it. For me it was a solution for my needs. But if you need true full control variable speed. This IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO GET. But if you just need an on off switch at your foot then you get this one.

Works Well
Most carving or drilling tasks with my Dremel tool require variable tool speeds. It is easier to vary the tool's speed with this pedal than with the tool's speed button. It works well.

good variable speed control for die grinder porting tool
works as advertised for variable out put speed control. I used it to with a cheap harbor freight large die grinder. The tool spins way to fast for doing regular porting and and smoothing with carbide burrs on various metal. Different hardness metals and different types of grinding burrs need much less speed. The variable pedal works perfect...its not 100% variable control,, more like 30-100% of the normal full speed. But for the price its a deal. It handles the amperage of a large die grinder well for last few months also. The electrical cords a little short so expect the use of an extension cord to get the pedal on the proper foot location

Wobbly and workish- returning it
Using with a dremel tool. Tried another brand and that one did not go to full speed. This one did seem to give full power when pressed all the way. The wide and low pedal seems nice, I'm not sure it had as much control as I want. Since much of the movement is in the flex of the pedals plastic I don't think it is controlling the speed when I move. You may like it but with the flex and wobble I am not going to get the precise action I'm looking for. Returning this to try a third option on these.

Fabulous!
Exactly what I was looking for, works flawlessly thru all speed ranges, especially the slower ones I needed it for, with my 1940s slow-speed, belt-driven dental drill. It IS a tad flimsy around the edges, but it works & is durable & that's what counts!(Note Of Caution: naysayers on here said it wouldn't work and would only be an off/on switch, but they were wrong Wrong WRONG! So take the 'negative' reviews here with a grain of salt; they're probably NOT real!)

Poor quality
Lasted 5 months before the switch broke
