I bought these specifically because they had stainless steel cables not just stainless steel casing on the clips. Strongly suggest these given the strength of the cables themselves. I use it to hold a remote control on my belt and I’m constantly pulling it forward to use and I’ve never had a problem. First set I bought claimed to be stainless steel, but the cables were strong twine and broke after several uses. These do have very good tension on them for retractability, which is good and bad given I pull it forward for use and it actually is slightly tiring given the strength, but I have no problem using. Would definitely buy again if needed.

I bought this upgraded heavy-duty retractable keychain to use alongside my Uniclife vertical badge holders, and I love it just as much! It is incredibly tough and handles daily use without any issues.

I work in a locked psychiatric unit and use my keys probably 50 times a day. I purchased my reel July 2025 and have used it daily since then. My reel cable has only just begun to fray, but there’s plenty of cable left to trim and secure with a ferrule so I can continue to keep it out of a landfill. Plus, if one breaks, the product is a 2 pack. I’ve searched high and low for a product that is convenient, safe, durable, and lets me know where my keys are 100% of the time. If you’re looking for something that is dainty and cute, avoid the product, but if you want something that will stand up to a test of durability, then this is the reel for you.

These were great for their 8 months of life. Wire itself incredibly durable, seemed nearly indestructible, retracting mechanism fast and with strong pull. Oddly both of these broke on me just last night after 8 months of tough wear and outright abuse. Honestly pretty damn good considering all they endured, and given how they held up I’ll likely get another 2 pack when done this review if I don’t find something I think will be comparable for cheaper. I work in a warehouse and nothing out there is “me proof”, especially so in industrial environment. After the third time of the company provided badge reels failing and losing my badge in the warehouse I needed something more durable. Got the two pack. Had my badge on one, and a tool on the other. Vast improvement. Put the clip ends on break-away clasps in the event the *extremely* durable steel wire got caught on things it shouldn’t (and it did a few times). The retraction mechanism just suddenly quit last night during normal badge swipe use. A few hrs later the clip on the other just popped out off the back when I went to use it. Strange they both went in the same night in different ways, but I have to restate that for what was demanded of them they endured for longer than I’d have thought and were great right up until then. Can’t quite grant that 5th star but these are solid. I recommend.

These are good replacements for the one that exploded. It is durable, with the right amount of spring to retract the fob. It works for all I need it to.

Broke in about 3 weeks of daily use. To be fair, the retractable system got a lot of daily usage as i work in a facility with multiple badge entry doors. It felt nice and sturdy, looked pretty good. Fit very well, i think.it only fell off once and i 50% sure it was user error. If it wasnt for the fact tha5 it broke i would have given it a 5 star.

Great for healthcare workers! Was so tired of breaking badge reels. These are so sturdy. The cable is thick and can hold a lot of weight.

Very decent product. But I have one issue. I bought this a little over a year ago and it has worked very well. However this morning while putting it on my belt I dropped it in the parking lot of my place of work and the belt clip broke off. The product is useless to me w/o the belt clip. Now I can't blame it all on the product, I was careless in trying to put it on my belt. But I think that the product should be able to withstand one small drop w/o breaking. I would give this product five stars otherwise.
