Not blinding, great for emergency prepping
These little lights are perfect for emergencies, just make sure you have some batteries stored with them. I like that you can put only 2 batteries in, or four, and there is a raised diagram in the battery compartment indicating how to put them in if you're only using 2. The light is not blinding, but diffused nicely through the white plastic. They are super lightweight and would be great to use in a backpack for camping. No need to have a charger, just keeps some batteries handy. They are sturdy and because of the shape won't topple over. I put them in a container that I store where I have to go during tornados, so I'll have light readily available. The button is easy to use to turn it on and off. I'm definitely going to buy more and put one in the car in case of emergency. Their compact size makes them easy to add to any bugout or emergency bag.

Super bright!
This lantern is super easy to use, stands on its own which is very convenient and is really bright.Look and work well. Seems well built and durable. It is versatile as you can easily hold it by the handle or hang it.Works with 4 AA batteries. I have not tested how long it lasts. We are ready for the next power outage!

Gets the job done
Work as intended. No fuss. No muss. These are just for emergencies when the power goes out. Operate on 2 or 4 batteries. And batteries were included. I used 4. It has a simple on/off button. Can be hung or they can stand on a surface. Clean compact design. Nothing fancy at all, no annoying usb charger to mess with. They get the job done. I doubt the battery compartment is waterproof but hey, I'm not planning on using them outside. They have enough light to see to get around. Not overly bright. One of these lamps shed enough light for me to be able to see my way through a pitch black garage. I bought 4 lamps (2 packs) and I may get more. Very handy to have for unexpected power outages. Not sure how long the batteries last, but if our next outage is lengthy I'll let you know.

lightweight, nice soft white light - average durability - 2 or 4 AA but same light output?
FIRST i never write reviews - maybe just a couple over decades, but the frustration with simple easy to fix things like providing INFORMATION on features or stopping the super cheap plastic tab battery covers just never being designed better felt like speaking my mind a bit. Us being in hurricane area we have lots of lights for power outages - the most recent ones we have been using are the pop up LED type lantern all over amazon uses 3AA good light, screw on bottoms (so seem could take a drop ok) but very harsh LED bare light which i find hard on the eyes especially in long use, so ordered these Eveready ones due to the soft white "glass" and yes the light is nice and soft white and in a closed of pitch black room the light output seems identical to the pop up LED using 3 AA batteries. Confusingly these can use 2 or 4 AA batteries but NO EXPLANATION of the difference and the light output using 2 and 4 is identical?!? i even put 2 in one and 4 in the other and its the same side by side? maybe 4 lasts longer? no idea - no info given. when purchasing i had thought maybe 2AA was low light, 4AA was brighter light and maybe the push button on switch would cycle between OFF, LOW, HIGH but nope its just on or off. it's a light weight lantern easy handles for big or small hands, and the light is soft so i will use these around the areas where they will stay on a long time and less eye strain from the soft light. the bad - the bottom where you put the batteries is the very old style square with two small tabs on one side and the little plastic bent over tab that after so many pushes in the plastic always fatigues and breaks off then you have to duct tape the battery cover on (bad) or it looks like even with a very small drop the tabs or the plastic push tab will break off and then you have NO battery cover (worse) so that's a bummer as i can see these getting banged around or dropped if used by smaller kids and without a battery cover they kinda become near useless to me. the pop up style lanterns have a screw on bottom cover that while not expedition ready seems should handle bumps and drops better and not break off leaving batteries exposed or falling out etc... overall i love the soft light and smooth handles so that's a plus but the battery cover is below expectations a negative - the 2AA or 4AA feature, well i have no idea what the point is but the light output is the same so i guess we will just use them with 2AA unless there is info on the difference. i'd give 3.5 Stars but it is basically 3 or 4 depending on how you view the pros and cons.

My Favorite Light!
A simple, purposeful light. Not annoyingly bright, but perfect, spreading illumination. Lightweight. Not a battery vampire. I’ve given several as gifts. Worth the price, and then some!

Love these for use in power outages
I am very impressed with these lanterns. I ordered them for our hurricane season since we often lose power during a strong storm. They are small and easy to store, lightweight with a nice handle and brighter than I even expected. Easy to use with only one button and nice that they are weather resistent and no metal to corrode. So glad I ordered them.

So many uses, bright compact
These are bright, don’t turn them on in your face. I don’t know if you could read by it but I’d think you could with it right beside you. We continue to have power cuts, more than ever and sometimes for days. I had lots of candles but we’re past that now. Will get 2 more. Would work great camping or evening activities. Plus, they’re compact, great to leave in a car. Recommend.
