Germinated well!
They sprouted so well! Here I thought the Annie's brand ones weren't sprouting because of my methods and cool weather. Nope. These are just quality seeds. I still trimmed the seed tips with a nail trimmer, soaked them in water for 12 hours, and then put them in a damp paper towel covered by a damp wash cloth. Took a little less than a week to sprout. I do have a small greenhouse I'm growing one in and it's doing fantastic so far. Will update when it starts making gourds 🤞

Just planted
Nothing growing yet. I soaked overnight and planted today so I will update as it goes to see how viable the seeds were. Some of the seeds were smaller but most sank after soaking which should indicate good germination. I'll provide updated info as they grow (or don't). I did plant in compostable planters as most gourds/squash do not appreciate root disturbances so I wanted to be able to pop in the ground once started. Update: June 3rd - so far only 1 has germinated. I started these at the same time as another brand and also made sure they were viable seeds by soaking. I'm glad I decided to get 2 different brands but am bummed that these are having a hard time getting going.

Theyre genuinely okay, usually if germination is low items means you got older seeds
I planted some of the seeds and they Germinated fine, they died bc my clumsy butt accidentally dropped them

Didn't work for me.
I followed all the instructions and put the seeds in peat pots with starter soil. I placed them in a south facing window for a month. Not one seed germinated.

Good seeds if you actually give gourds room to run.
I planted a few near a fence line because I wanted birdhouse gourds, and the vines took off once the nights warmed up. These are not small, tidy plants, so don’t tuck them into a crowded raised bed unless you want them climbing everything. I soaked the seeds overnight before planting and had better results with those than the ones I planted dry. The packet instructions were enough to get started without looking up a bunch of extra stuff.

They are sprouting!!
I read a book about growing gourds from seeds, and I snipped off the “ears” with a nail clipper, and soaked them overnight. I then planted them with seed starter mix in a tray with small compartments but then when I tried to remove them, some seedlings broke. So, I planted a few more seeds in peat pots, which I can plant directly in the ground once they grow 4 leaves. The seedlings grew so long that they were flopping over so I bought aluminum wire on Amazon and made stands that looked like lollipops so the circle at the top could hold them up. I also bought a grow light, not really necessary, though out of all the different kinds of seeds I planted, the gourd seeds are doing the best. Keep in mind that there will always be a few that don’t germinate but that’s life…and one thriving plant will take up a lot of room and proliferate.

Followed the instructons and had a 100% germination rate
I have no idea why I suddenly wanted to grow gourd seeds this year, but I picked up this pack and decided why not? I followed the instructions - soak for a day, trim off the tips, allow to germinated in wet paper towel. Every single one of my seeds germinated. Since I didn't really plan ahead, I germinated the whole packet. Now I have to figure out what to do with like twenty little seedlings!

Seeds took a long time to germinate.
bad seeds. nothing sprouted. Update: 32 days later they finally germinated. I may have put too them in too much water initially. I gave up and let them dry out some and put them in a lightly sprayed paper towel and possibly because it was also a hot day today they finally germinated. only 2 of the ~17 seeds didn't germinate. for reference other gourd seeds I bought germinated in about 3 - 7 days.
