Does not work, leaks
I bought the better cylindrical one for $30 that proposes to have a better seal. Saw YouTube video. This one is junk.

Old school device that works!
Been using these since the early 70's. I have yet to find any thing that works better at lubricating cables inside sleeve. If you havea cable that's seized, try using penetrating oil like WD-40 first. Once you havea little inside sleeve, try air nozzle and air pressure to force it thru. Let it sit for several hours or overnight and try again if not immediately successful. Once cable i has liquid exiting other end and cable is moving, follow up with can't cable lubricant. Penetrating oil is nota good lubricant. Force it out and replace it to keep cable working free. Lubricate few times a year to inhibit seizing. Great product. It's not perfect, it's not going to seal perfectly on every housing, it doesn't need to, just helps direct fluids into cable. If you need more seal, try wrapping cable and sleeve with black tape before clamping. Yes it's messy, live with it and if you have a better tool, please tell me about it! This tool is cheap, easy to use without disassembly in most cases and does what it's supposed to do. There are no magic fixes. If you want clean, replace the cable.

Does exactly what it claims
other than removing the cable altogether, this is the least messy way to get lubricant all the way through the cable sheath.

Good for the price
Works good for what it costs. depending on the size cable you're lubing it may leak a bit, but they all do If you put it on then spay a little and let it flow down slowly it will leak less, if you spay a lot trying to force the lube into the cable it will likely leak a lot more. I used to used electrical tape to do this but these type of cable lubers work better but not perfect as cable jacket sizes vary.

Make lubing bike cables routine
I haven’t yet done it but this type of tool makes a sometimes messy job less of a problem. It should work as designed it’s a simple process with an uncomplicated tool
