A Game-Changer for Home Security!
Absolutely love the Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro! From the moment I installed it (which was super easy and took less than 10 minutes), I could see a huge difference in the quality and performance compared to previous models. The video is incredibly clear, even at night, and the two-way audio is crisp and responsive.I really appreciate that it's completely wireless – no messy wiring, and the battery lasts much longer than I expected. The motion detection is spot on and I love being able to customise the alerts and zones through the app. It gives me real peace of mind when I'm away from home.If you're looking to upgrade your home security or want a reliable, easy-to-use video doorbell, this is 100% worth it. Highly recommend!

Addition to our Ring family
This was the next addition to our Ring system - we already had the Ring alarm system which we were very happy with, and so we took advantage of this doorbell (and chime) being on special offer. The doorbell is easy to fit and set-up, and the chime just plugs into a power socket. As with other Ring products, you use the app to scan a barcode and follow the instructions, very easy. The app offers various configuration options but we’ve pretty much left everything in its default setting as that suits us. In hindsight we could probably have got away with buying a less-expensive model because we haven’t really explored the features that this top-of-the-range model.Prior to buying, our main concern with a smart doorbell was the delay, i.e. how long would it take for a notification to come up on our phones, and how feasible would it be to have a conversation through the doorbell. We needn’t have worried, it only takes about a couple of seconds at most for the notifications to come through, and holding a conversation is definitely possible. There is no delay with the chime, it responds almost immediately - something we weren’t expecting was that our Alexa speaker would also announce that there was somebody at the door! Our secondary concern was the battery life, as we didn’t want to have to charge the battery pack frequently. We have had the doorbell about 3 weeks now, and its battery health is showing as 59% - so I suspect we will get about 2 months out of each charge, which is acceptable for us.The only problem we experienced was the wifi connectivity, with a poor connection being reported. This was surprising as the distance from the doorbell to the router is only about 7 metres, with 2 walls in between. So we decided to swap our Chime for a Chime Pro and make use of the latter’s internal ‘chime network’ as the chime is situated midway between the doorbell and router - this solved the poor connection.Very happy with this doorbell. At the moment we are still on the free trial of the Ring Home Plan but I suspect we will be subscribing to a plan when that ends so that we continue to get full functionality (e.g. video storage/access), and also possibly include our Ring alarm system in the plan.

Very Disappointed (at first)
I fitted this Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro 8 days ago and am very disappointed with it.At a rough count, it has over 50 settings and I have been constantly adjusting them to try and get it to work satisfactorily. It still occasionally fails to detect motion or people, or does detect motion when it shouldn’t because it’s outside of my set Birds Eye Zone.I have had 3 occasions when a car has driven onto my front driveway, right in front of the doorbell, but it has failed to detect movement until the driver of the car has got out and come to ring the bell, and it then detects a person. On the other hand, it has detected cars driving past on the road outside my home, past the end of my driveway, which is outside of my Birds Eye Zone.I find that after a detection, it more often than not, tells you that a live view is unavailable because the battery is low and when I check the battery level, it says “Add a battery”.This has been happening ever since it was first installed and the battery charge was up at 98% before a detection. Also after a detection, it often also tells you that the WiFi connection is poor, even although it was showing a full strength signal before the detection. The inability to get a live view, the battery and WiFi Signal warnings seem to reset themselves back to normal after about 10 to 20 minutes when, I think, it does its next health check. The preview on the dashboard on my phone also seems to update erratically. Sometimes it updates every few minutes and at other times it freezes for many hours and only updates after I initiate a live view.I wouldn’t have fitted it if I had known about all those problems.UPDATE:The problems turned out to be a faulty battery. After I changed it, the power problems after a motion detection all cleared. I also noticed that the original faulty battery was losing 3.3% power per day whereas the replacement one is only losing 1.6% per day.The Dashboard preview is also now updating after about 2 or 3 seconds after opening the App.Ring has now supplied a free replacement battery.Only moan now is the occasional motion detections occurring outside of my Birds Eye zone.

Doorbell ok, motion detection not good.
Pro; Great as a push doorbell.Cons; motion detection, even on max setting, only works 50% of the time if your lucky. I've reinstalled app, cleared cache and rebooted device at least every couple of days but still can't sense a person standing in front of it saying hello 50% of the time. It senses me going out but not coming back or vice versa. But senses a cat at 11pm without fail. Sometimes after a reboot it will work every time for half dozen times but may also miss half a dozen in the same day. Snapshots often show stranger on doorstep but no notification. Same with me standing in front of the doorbell. My second ring doorbell, returned the last one for same problem after spending long time on phone to support. Not recommended.
