Need re-connection often
This smart plug has been a valuable addition to my smart home setup. It's incredibly easy to use, and I appreciate the seamless integration with all my devices. The design is great and fits well with my home decor, and the overall quality is commendable. However, I've encountered occasional issues with dropped connections, which can be a little frustrating. Other than this little drawback, the convenience of remote control through my device makes it worthwhile to get.

Do not work as intended for mesh.
I purchased to extend my wifi network out to my barn but the plugs do not connect to each other just to the main wifi. All plugs must be within wifi range of the main wifi router and do not hop from 1 plug to the next to get to the main wifi. They work fine if they are in the same room and you want to turn off or on everything in that room plugged into them but I can't think of any reason to want to cut off electricity to several devices in the same room.

Big fan of the U-tec products!
I started off with a ULTRALOQ, U-Tec, deadbolt and have just kept adding more of their products. I love the simple, easy to use U-tec Home app and the integration with Google Home. It'll integrate with the others as well but I personally use Google Home. I have had WeMo plugs which I replaced for Kasa/Tapo plugs and now the U-Tec. I have to say that these work just like the less expensive Kasa ones BUT those do not use Matter nor do they have mesh capability so while this is about double the cost, being able to more seamlessly integrate plugs into bundles and being able to take advantage of the Matter features is worth it to me. Easy to use, plug in, configure, name it and go. I have integrated mine into my Google automation and it's just nice to be able to use the voice control to flip a light on or off. One thing I tried, and it works though it seems odd, is using them for remote reboots. I had an issue with one of my TVs that just lost its mind on occasion so I set this up to automatically reboot the TV every day and that solved the problem. Electronics are all like mini computers and you know what happens when a computer gets glitchy - reboot. Well worth the price and a big fan of their products!

Works but requires separate app
If you want to know if this device "works" then YES. You can plug this in, setup the app, and have it work with google or alexa. It will operate as expected. However, I have deducted stars because this requires its own app. If you're looking to setup your house, you want to limit the number of extraneous apps required to get everything sync'd up. By imposing a separate app for the use of an outlet (asinine) you are also then required to link the app with your google home or alexa account. These extra steps should be unnecessary and its just a way for the company to get your data and sell it for extra money on the side. I would recommend getting a plug that works out of the box with Alexa without requiring separate setup.

Doesn't work with SmartLife, once setup in their app Alexa can take over though.
SmartLife is the de facto standard app for IoT device setup. I'm not going to run a new app for every new IoT device that comes out. I've got dozens of bulbs and plugs and switches from a dozen manufacturers. I simply couldn't even track all the passwords necessary to login to all these apps. Who even has room for all that on their phones? So anyway, no SmartLife = might as well be worthless.Just to be fair, I did install their app, sign up for an account, set up the device, and link it to Alexa for voice control. For one electrical plug, that took 20 minutes too long. Once setup Alexa can take over control over it. And did.In a year or two when I need to move the plug I'll have forgotten the login and other info on how to use this plug. It'll end up in the trash.
