Eliminates one possible problem!
My 2000 Toyota Avalon popped a P0773 code & as the transmission fluid was changed over ten years ago, that seemed like the place to start. I used Castrol transmax full synthetic multi-vehicle, so I figured it should last forever. I changed the power steering fluid at the same time, same fluid & I have a quart I use to add when either runs low. This thing measured the temps, 371F transmission, 256F steering, & 117F quart. I live in a Phoenix suburb, it was 113F today, & I just finished a 7 mile drive so all are reasonable. All three got 100% evaluations, so the transmission fluid is not the problem. If the code pops up again, I'll be digging deeper for the cause. Highly Recommended!

This device is a worth while investment.
It works as advertised and actually saved me from a very expensive mistake. Dealer was trying to push a transmission service for $350 on a 35,000 mile vehicle. In the Owners manual the interval was 60,000 miles. I took a leap of faith on this tool. It indicated that the vehicle in question still had 80% of initial fluid life capacity. To cross check, I tested fluid on a truck with over 200k miles and a fresh transmission rebuild…99% life capacity. Tester paid for itself on first use. Stupid simple to use too.

Not consistent
I use it to see the temperature of the transmission oil but as for the transmittance I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or it’s just not accurate. Brand new mopar oil shows 100% every time. Valvorine oil only shows 60% brand new. The oil in my car is variable. Sometimes 20 sometimes 60 or 50. It’s just not consistent

Garbage . Please don't waste your time and money
I am a professional mechanic and runs my own workshop. I bought this tool to add one more good digital toy in my daily work tools. I tried this tool to check BRAND NEW transmission fluid from a sealed bottle and it shows 40% but when I tires on used transmission fluid which I drained from 2012 Honda civic it shows 90%. Every time it shows different reading. It's not accurate at all. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. IT'S GARBAGE AND I AM RETURNING IT TO SELLER FOR REFUND .........
