Great for musicians
These have excellent detail and are relatively light (but clear) on the bass side, so less exciting to listen to than some, for example my Denon D5000 (which are also in a very different price bracket). They are great value for money, extremely clear, sturdy, and leak very little sound, so are ideal for a musician for recording or playing through headphones. They are also probably the most comfortable headphones I've ever tried, and I can happily listen or play through them for hours, as the velour pads don't get hot and sweaty, unlike a lot of the leather or plastic ones, and they are also fine if you wear glasses. Overall, I'd really recommend these as way better than anything else I've tried in this price range, including Hifiman's slightly more expensive planer model, which felt solid and comfortable but sounded awful - muffled highs, weak bass.

Buy them! A laymans review.
I've never ventured into Audiophile purchases before, and have been content to buy "mid range - low range" cost to sound quality. I recently purchased some "gaming" headsets (as I want a headset that can be used for music and gaming) but the sound on them was, despite reviews, in my opinion terrible all have been returned. I bought these and they arrived today and I cannot get over how incredible the sound is.I've tested them on more bass heavy songs which some people note studio headsets can be a little slim on, and I have to say they are in no way inadequate. The sound is clear for all ranges that my untrained ears can make out and I'd honestly not change or want for any more, and I'm hearing tones and clarity to songs I've listened to for years on various headsets and IEMs, none compare to how good the 770's are. It's like giving my ears 4k visuals.Size and comfort are amazing, the cups are large enough to not touch my ears. My glasses fit comfortably under the padding and compared to previous headsets they don't feel too heavy for me at all, but I'm sure they are heavy for some. They are well made and durable, but with good flex despite being made from metal.I'm sure that sound quality may be able to get better than this but I feel this has to be right at the upper end of the diminishing returns curve for sound vs cost. In my opinion they are worth every penny, I am so delighted with them. I can't bring myself to take them off and get hit with waves of dopamine listening to songs I thought I knew.TL:DR Buy them, they are worth it.

Very very excellent :)
I love it. Very very much! I have an Sony Wh-1000xm4, and I thought it was great(still an excellent Bluetooth everyday headphone). I have always worn it cables, turned on but with noise cancelling off. Then I tried the dt770 pro 80ohm. It hurt my head and I returned it. This dt770 pro x has the recess, so it is much comfortable. Because the soundstage is amazing, I can differentiate each and every instrumental separately. Today I was listening to a song (I listened with Tidal for MQA recordings, as Spotify doesn't provide high fidelity audio) and I didn't know there was a piano, so prominent in the song which is barely audible by any other headphone I tried. My uneducated opinion, but I think pro x (48ohm stellar driver) is much cleaner than even the 80ohm dt770 pro I previously tired. I don't know how better a headphone can get :) I am very happy with my purchase. My only concern is sometimes I get so hyped and turn the volume quite high, and the headphone is capable of being very loud without you realising in that great emotion, so that's something to be cautious of :P

Very happy with my new Beyer dynamic DT770 Pro x headphones
I still have my old Audio Technica closed back noise cancelling headphones but for a while the switch for noise cancelling has been faulty.I thought of some wireless headphones but after some studying I went for Beyerdynamic, this new version of the dt770 appealed to me for several reasons, high quality brand, used heavily within the professional music industry, comfortable, very good sound signature , easy to drive and possibly all parts are replaceable for the future. When Beyer announced the latest Stellar driver was fitted and this was the anniversary model I placed an order and I'm pleased I did. There is absolutely nothing I dislike about these, now I have used them for about 20 hours of playback the midrange seems spot on for my ears, vocals are clear, well positioned in the soundstage, no sibilence at all. High frequencies seem slightly more extended and precise when compared to my Audio Technica phones ( not massively) and low frequencies very similar but when the music calls for it these Beyerdynamic phones seem to dig deeper which I find great and all this keeps me up at night, I hear detail that I haven't noticed before and I love the presentation overall. Very happy with these DT 770 Pro X phones, I'm sure you can get better but at £219.00, brilliant !

Great sound and comfort.
I usually use open backed AKG 702s but wanted some closed back headphones. Quite honestly, I love these. They are so comfortable and the sound is superb. Amazing value for money.

Highlights all details in the audio
This pair of head phones are well balanced with the best V shaped tuning I have experienced on headphones. On certain tracks the Vocals can sound a little recessed, but overall I love the tuning of this and the non existent distortion even at high volumes.
