Rothco Multi Cam MOLLE Bladden 2 Qt. Canteen Cover

Was recommended this item form a buddy that went to SAPPER School.I like this item but the top portion when the 2qt canteen is placed in it is sloppy and jumps around. I have my pouch affixed to my ruck and when I run while rucking it bounces up and down and is kinda bothersome. I just wished it was more secure. we both had the same problem and he gave me his solution. ** put a small towl folded at the bottom of the pouch so the canteen sits higher.

Item came as described & doesn't seem to have any defect's. Shoulder strap is kind of short, but comes off easy. I may throw an old strap on with a little more length to it. Otherwise the MOLLE on the back will work fine on my bag.

Seems well-stitched, although plenty of untrimmed threads everywhere. The snaps on the back for the two flaps that could go around a belt are fairly durable, but I wouldn't want to test them in the long term. The shoulder strap sliding buckle, and the d-rings to which the shoulder strap connects, are plastic. I think the d-rings are likely to bust after one use as they are very thin, so I plan to replace them immediately. I'm not so sure about the sliding buckle. The clips that connect the strap to the d-rings are metal, but not overly durable. Overall good construction marred by some sub-par pieces.

I have some honest product review that needs to happen with this thing. As a molle attachment, it is crap. I am in the military and the molle is too close and not long enough. It is a 3x4 molle foot print when the actual canteen cover is double that. This then results in the constant banging back and forth. They need to adjust the molle straps so that it doesn't do this as much.

I have used 2 qt canteens/covers for over 20 years. This is my first commercial purchase of a cover and I am extremely disappointed! I purchased this in March 2018 and attached this to my ruck like I have done. Last month, I went to the field and out on patrol and noticed my canteen was missing. I noticed the plastic piece that holds the clip to connect the cloth material had fallen off/missing. The clip itself is undamaged and the cloth portion appears to be undamaged. Now the top of the cover just flaps and there is no way to secure it.This product was not abused and I have used it in a manner like I have for many years to include two deployments. Rothco touts itself as having military grade quality commercial products. I will never buy a Rothco product that my life depends on.

Satisfactory product overall. Mine came with the insulating lining shedding. Not great for outdoor use. This is a knock-off of the U.S. Army MIL-STD issue. So, you get what you pay for. If you want the real military issue stuff, you will have to go hunting for them at the local military surplus stores.
