Victor Wide Pedal Mouse Traps, 12-Pack, Plastic Pedal Snap Traps

I've been using these traps for years and they're consistently effective. I find that the ones with the yellow pressure pads are much easier to bait and set, and are generally more effective overall, than the ones with the metal pedal. TIP ON BAITING: This tip is ONLY for the traps with the yellow pressure pads. These traps have a little "well" near the catch. My advice is to NOT put bait there. Instead, mix together a small batch of peanut butter and jam and, using a butter knife, fill JUST that small hole in the center of the yellow pad with a dab. I add jelly because the sweet smell seems to add to the attraction. You just need a little bit because you're creating an aroma, not providing a meal. Mice will come to the center of the pressure pad -- exactly where you want them -- and will press down because most of the peanut butter & jelly mix is INSIDE the hole, with just enough sticking up to entice. It takes a little finesse to get it right but do this and you'll catch a critter every time. ANOTHER TIP: Don't be shy with traps. If you have a mouse problem, don't put down just 1-2 traps where you see their droppings. Put down 20 traps, make it a death zone. And remove the dead critters quickly so their carcasses don't scare other mice away. While I'm here, I'll respond to some of the negative reviews. COMPLAINT 1: The snap bar can be hard to lift because it snaps flush with the wood. Yes, this is sort of true. But the snap bar HAS to snap flush with the wood, that's how it breaks the mouse's neck. I saw one person say he cuts the corners off the trap to make it easier to reset and that might be a small improvement, but it's not hard lifting that pry bar and you really DO want the entire bar to snap flush with the wood. If someone finds it that hard and they plan on re-using the traps, they could get a disposable plastic knife and use that all the time. COMPLAINT 2: The parts eventually come loose. I re-use my traps repeatedly unless I forget to check and the decomposed mouse makes the trap too gross to re-use. But remember, these things cost about a dollar each, you shouldn't expect precision machining for that price. There ARE more expensive, higher quality traps out there, though I've found these to be the most effective out there. COMPLAINT 3: Mice eat the food and the trap doesn't snap. This is probably more prevalent on the traps with the metal pedal. I've been using the ones with the yellow pressure pads for years and have never -- not once -- had the bait taken without the trap being set off.

These are perfect for catching voles. So far I’ve caught 4 with these and 0 with the plastic black ones. The only issue is you have to throw them away after one use. I’m not removing the animal out of it.

I've used other versions of the wooden Victors, over the years and they've been fine for me. They used to be state of the art. This version is not. The plastic tray and the trigger wire refuse to set up at least three quarters of the time; they just don't want to engage. I've just thrown the last half dozen traps out after finally cutting a finger trying to set one. You may have a better experience, so good luck. I'm switching to the new plastic brands that let you load the bait separately from the bottom. The so called "better mousetrap." They have proven to be virtually foolproof for me. More expensive, but my fingers are worth it.

Solid 10/10! These work better than the other wooden and metal traps as I had spent the first half of the week dealing with the mice and those traps before ordering these. I only had one escape. Don't ask. It was not pretty. However, if you're trying to be discreet about your new roommates, they are delivered in a well -marked box so there's no discretion to be had there, you've now been warned. As others pointed out, depending upon the level of your issue, I simply donned latex gloves, disposed of the unfortunate and reloaded the trap for another use without hesitation. And without any issues. They're easy to use, stay pretty clean in the process, I thought I would have a moral dilemma with this, and surprisingly, after having 7 go off the first night, I was just fine with it. Make sure they're set to the right side, on the SOFT setting. And set them out in groups. Hope this helps!

Bought a 12 pack of these old fashioned plastic plate traps after having a mouse problem for a couple of weeks. I had tried some of these newer electric zap style mouse traps and had them out for days with no success. These were delivered yesterday morning and in an aggressive form of overkill I baited all 12 and put them in our pantry in all different locations. It only took one night and we heard the lovely snap. Couldn't recommend these more. Easy to bait and set up and affordable and effective.

This is the 2nd time i ordered these. The instructions on the back of the package left a little to be desired by the videos are spot on. Out of 24, i had 2 that just refused to set in this last shipment. 2 bad out of 24 isn't too bad i think. Some of the other reviews said quality control was an issue. I think both of the ones that didn't work the stable was not even holding the arm in place, the stable was just into the wood. Since the price was cheap i would still recommend them.

Why would reviewing mouse traps be an option? Umm I had a family of mice literally terrorizing me and I put a bit of PB on these guys and evicted those little monsters in a couple days. I like these because they are cheap enough to toss out and actually work consistently. The no see em traps that they run into and you toss the traps don’t seem to work as well and cost way more. So while you do see the dead mouse. Grab a bag and pickup the whole thing and toss it. You can buy a dozen of these for the price of one of the other ones.

Bought the traps to get rid of mice in my house. Traps were effective and moderate to hard to set up the trap. I used peanut butter as bait and caught a mouse in every trap set. Although these traps need to be better inspected to make sure each part is installed correctly. Of the 12 traps 4 of them broke because they weren’t nailed properly. It’s pretty upsetting because I couldn’t use them anymore and I felt as if I wasted my money.

The only mouse traps you need, and well priced too.

finally caught the mouse. put the trap in narrow space with no room to get past trap and put a bunch of nuts behind trap. caught my impossible to catch mouse second day. i tried glue traps and every thing you can think of and this worked, hope this helps ypu out.

Got the mice. Did the job. Nice to hear them go off and make the kill quick and painless.

Not Impressed 😑 Victor M035 -12pk Plastic Pedal traps. - 6 of the 12 traps could NOT be SET! = 6 in GARBAGE. I have had great success over many years with the original 'metal pedal' design. The PLASTIC catch is too smooth and slippery for the long metal arm to stay in place. Meaning the arm slips out and the trap POPS before it can be placed.
