The Santa Suit

I admit it, I am a Christmas Movie Junkie! Yes, even all the schmaltzy Hallmark Christmas movies. I have been known to sit through a lot of them, and even enjoyed many of them too. But some of them? You just have to turn the channel or turn the TV off...what a waste of time they are.Not this movie. It stands out among them all, and it is mostly because of Keven Sorbo's fine acting. When I first saw this movie last season (2012) I wasn't even sure who he was, and I thought great, another mediocre Christmas movie :-) But, in no time at all I was hooked. He is \really one amazing actor, and was perfect for this role. The depth of character he portrayed, is such a subtle manner, is pretty amazing--to me he rivals all of the big actors you see out there--why isn't he in a lot more movies? I would stand in line to watch him now!That aside, The Santa Suit really is a touching, sweet movie, that makes one pause to really consider our relationships, and how we treat others. I know that is the oft-repeated message of the Christmas season, but this movie teaches that lesson, and makes it fun along the way. The other actors are good too, especially his assistant at work, played by Rosemary Dunsmore.Predictable? Of course, but in a wonderfully warm way that makes you want to go along for the ride. I made my husband, who does NOT watch Christmas movies watch this movie, and he also enjoyed it. If you knew my bah humbug husband, that is a pretty big testimony to how good this movie is :-)Highly recommend The Santa Suit to all members of the family. A good movie, with a great actor leading the cast.

Movie about an Ad man who has lost touch with the meaning of Xmas. With the help of a little Xmas magic from Santa, anyone looking at him, thinks he's Santa, but he only views himself unchanged in the mirror. He winds up in a homeless shelter and working as a dept. store santa, and it's here he starts to learn about what is happening in the real world and the hard times people go through and finds his inner Xmas spirit and helps one very sad little girl along the way. Good family watching for the holiday season.

To me this is the BEST of the Christmas Seasonal movies out to date. It combines all the themes of most of the great ones but it has something extra special that I can't put my finger on But my heart saw it immediately.... I watched it three times in 24 hours and will be watching it several times more during this holiday season! The Santa in this one looks Real and that means a lot to some of us. The story is timeless and Sebastian the Elf is the funniest addition and most delightful twist on the Christmas movies I can recall at this moment - he is something - the characters are marvelously real and believable. The story grows around itself and the resolution is most satisfying and unexpected in it's already foregone conclusion. Yes, I will be watching The Santa Suit from now on. This movie has become a must see for our family every Christmas. Although it isn't a big budget movie, the acting is top notch! I think this is one of Kevin Sorbo's best performances. The emotion expressed through his eyes is very powerful. This movie definitely causes one to stop and consider the importance of relationships and the meaning of the Christmas season--loving others, experiencing joy through service. Worldliness often brings isolation and loneliness.

A different twist from the usual man-meets-woman-and-they-fall-in-love Christmas movies. The acting was better than I expected, and while the plot was predictable, it was refreshing to see a corporate executive with a "sentence" of being Santa Claus during Christmas season. There were recognizable touches of "A Christmas Carol" and "Miracle on 34th Street," but I liked the way it all came together. The romantic connection was a last-scene bit, which was a pleasant change from a traditional romance plot. Switching the image of the character back and forth helped keep the story in perspective. The turning point for the executive was seeing his childhood home and the memories it brought to him. I enjoyed it and will watch it again, another year.

This is one of those fantasy movies that, to be honest with you, I went into expecting very little- Boy, was I surprised!! The Santa Suit is one of those feel good flicks that you keep thinking about long after it is over- It is a redemptive film that shows how a man's life can be changed with a little outside interference- It has a great moral fiber that runs through it and I recommend it for the entire family- Kevin Sorbo does a great job as both Santa and a greedy, worldly businessman- I won't give any thing else away on the content, but I can't stress the values of watching this offering!

Kevin Sorbo delivers a stunning performance as a completely believable antihero in this movie. The plot is too good to give away, so I'll just say "watch the movie." It's well worth your time. And you'll want to watch it more than once during the holidays. Enjoy!

This is a very good movie about a guy who runs a corporate store who happens to be a modern day Eboneezer Scrooge. The real Santa Claus shows up on the scene and disagreeing with the way hes running his business-obviously-turns him into his clone so that everybody who looks at him sees Santa Claus. Along the way he finds his inner self especially when he takes a job as a department store Santa Claus-what else-and a shy little girl starts hanging around who he takes a special interest in. Anything else I could say would be a spoiler. I may have said to much already. Anyway as I said this is a very good movie. You should get it. Merry Christmas.

Very enjoyable film and I now watch it every Christmas.
