I like to drizzel toasted pumpkin seed oil on top of pumpkin bisque when I serve it, and can tell you this small addition elevates the autumnal staple to gourmet status. To boot, the savory flavor of toasted pumpkin seed oil makes it a wonderful dip for crusty Tuscan bread as well. Beats olive oil by a country mile.Now, to be honest, I didn't carefully read the description before purchasing the Seitenbacher Organic Oil. So, when I opened it just before serving bisque to guests last weekend, I was surprised and dismayed that this oil was the color and consistency of olive oil, and not the thicker walnut brown oil I was expecting. One taste was sufficent to make me glad I hadn't discarded the old bottle of toasted pumkpin seed oil, so I could salvage the course for our guests.I can't say this product is bad, but I didn't really care for the taste - it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. The Amazon star system drove me to "I don't like it" or 2 stars.This oil may be just what you want, and if so, let's see a review at Amazon from you, but for my taste, this un-toasted oil isn't very much different from other cooking oils on the flavor spectrum. I have tried a lot of pumpkin seed oils and this one is the best for cosmetic use. I haven't used it for cooking or food so I can't tell you anything about that. I usually buy it from my organic grocery store and it is a lot cheaper than Amazon, but they stopped carrying it :(It is pure, unrefined, untoasted oil that I've used for OCM, night treatment for my dry skin, and with my moisturizer as an emollient, it's a great warm oil treatment for sensitized hair and scalp conditions like dry scalp/flaky scalp, eczema of the scalp, etc, and it rebalances the bio-derm. This one is also good for soaps and skin creams.Unrefined pure pumpkin seed oil naturally has a shimmering effect and it makes the skin look healthy and dewy, with prolonged use the effect becomes more than superficial, and the skin becomes healthier and more supple.It is from Germany, Styrian Austrian PSO is considered top tier for Pumpkin Seed Oil, but not the best for skin care IMHO. It comes in a dark glass bottle with a flow regulator thing-a-ma-bob and is definitely not user-friendly for cosmetic use but would be great for food purposes.My question would be why is it literally almost twice as much on Amazon, seems odd.
